After a night to sleep about it, I go back and take a look at last night's tough loss to Auburn. Tennessee's defense was phenomenal last night. The offense is starting to be a concern, though. The refs swallowed their whistles last night and I loved it. It allowed us to play physical and shut down the high scoring offense Auburn has. I thought it was a killer blow when Gainy fouled out, to me Gainy and ZZ are the two guys we have to depend on so, I have no problem with Ziegler taking the last shot. I definitely agree that we should've ran the clock down to the last second before taking the shot.

My observation from last night as an Auburn fan is that Tennessee has the best defense in the country. They just do. They are a team thats built to beat Auburn, Duke. On the other hand, I think they have some great offensive players that can take over a game, but they don’t have a great offense. I think they can beat anyone but their offensive flaws might be their undoing in the tournament. Hope to see a rematch in the Final Four. I respect your team a lot.

Great post. Honestly, I think you summed up what this team is. Unfortunately, I feel this team is like a lot of Barnes teams and the offense will be the undoing. While I'm upset over last night, this Auburn team has beaten a lot of good teams this year and will be really tough to beat in the end. It wasn't beautiful basketball last night, but it was big boy basketball.

@CWTAU Yeah, I do have a negative opinion of Bruce Pearl. Not sure if you remember, but he had Tennessee basketball rolling, then he decided to piss it away. It doesn't look like much now, but then, it was, and did set the program back years. Yeah, my negative opinion of Pearl is because he took Tennessee basketball for granted while he was here. You want to know about antics? Crying, whining, throwing their arms up in the air every time something was called against them, and flopping. It was ridiculous. Maybe it is sour grapes, but I guarantee if the shoe would have been on the other foot, Auburn fans would have been upset, too.

This video is much better than the video from Sat. Tennessee muded this game up for both sides, and there were bad calls on both sides. Rick barnes wasn't even mad at the game because that was what the game plan was. Tennessee guarded Auburn well enough for Auburn to have a bad shooting night.. Tennessee win if they had more offense... The main question on this is. What does Tennessee do for offense? Because Auburn has good defense, too, but their will not be a team that plays defense like Tennessee, so their offense is definitely going to pick back up..

Tennessee’s offense had been good up until the Florida game. Since then they’ve struggled. It seems that a lot of guys have lost confidence. This team isn’t a juggernaut on offense, but I do think they’re better than how they looked against Auburn and Florida also.

And big time players getting foul trouble in the first half. Three they need to slow down on transition some of the shows aub miss could and should never be rush coach pearl needs to get them to slow down and not rush. Those 4 things don't win conf championship and they don't get u too final 4

Lol. Because of the rivalry when I was a kid. For Tennessee, Alabama was 1, Auburn 2. That was before the SEC expanded. I got in trouble for blurting out a cuss word -- while in middle school -- when Greg Burke missed a FG that would have beat Auburn, but ended up in a tie. Auburn ranks lower on the hate list, but they're still on it. Georgia is definitely higher on the list.

@@pharmdata1689 I experienced the same except the other way around. I went in 2004, when Auburn came to Knoxville. Auburn smoked Tennessee. It wasn't even close. If I'm not mistaken, that's the year Auburn got robbed out of playing for the National Championship.

We played really tough and I personally think wr are better than Auburn. Call me crazy all you want but I was not that impressed with them. My frustration lies with our scorers. I don’t think Lanier is as good as we originally thought. Yeah when his 3s go in he is good but that’s about all he has. He has zero explosiveness to drive to the hole. He can’t really dunk over anyone. His mid range game is weak. Igor? Mayshack? They are becoming liabilities on offense. I mean seriously what other scorer do we have besides Lanier? And ever since we started conference play he has been coming up small.

I’m sorry but the whistle last night played to Tennessee’s style of play and the ref’s almost lost control of the game. The officiating was bad but it was consistently bad.

No, I’m not just dogging Broome, I’m digging the whole team for their flopping and whining. It comes from Pearl, so I shouldn’t be surprised. Auburn fans have a lot of audacity for wanting Barnes to get a technical. Broome clearly shoves Okpara, which caused him to walk, in a tense situation. Barnes had every right to be upset. That was a huge swing in the game, and IMO, possibly the difference.
