Those guys were tough to play against. Quick and scrappy

Barnes said he’s dealing with personal issues and it’s up to him on when he returns.

Great takes Frank! I'm glad to see Barnes played Lanier much more last night and on a night this guy didn't look like he broke a sweat socred plenty. Can he be another Dalton? Yes and no I think. Yes in the resepct that he can score every game more consistently than Dalton did. Dalton had games where he's come out score 20 or 30 soemthing, than go 2 or 3 game with very low scoring. I don't see Lanier being that but rather, every game scoring teens and low 20's, maybe more. But to me, a very good 3 point shooter. As well as this team. It's better built to for boards and shooting and did play good D last night and not as big as a drop off late on defense as in the last game. Gainey, Mayshack shot the ball well. Phillips may be more gifted than Estrella under in versatility. Was very impressed with him last night. Estrella nursing a shoulder? I like where this team is. In year's past, teams like Garner-Webb would have make us struggle.

With only two games worth of film, I think we can safely say that defensively, this team can be really good, as good as any of Barnes' previous teams. They look to be a team that will be very strong on the defensive boards. The two new guys at the 4 and 5 are imo, upgrades over last year. Lanier and Igor are both as good as advertised and at this point, it's just a matter of the fellas coming together as a team. The schedule is relatively mild up before we get into conference play. We're likely going to be favored in most of the matchups and should be 10-2, maybe 11-1 before the big game with Arkansas in K-town.
