These are all geldings of different ages. See how they move differently but also how they interact and who is more playful and energetic. Knowing how your horse plays, moves and interacts with other horses can help you get their gaits, but also help them to get rid of energy before you ride them.
All horses are different, no matter what breed they are. So try and learn more about the horse before you buy it and make sure it is a good fit for what you are looking to do. An energetic horse will be happier with more work, a dull or lazy horse will be happier with less work.
A young or playful horse will need more interaction and time to run vs one who doesn't play that much.

That was a very interesting comparison. Would it be possible to make a part 2 riding video using experienced rider(s). To see how each responds under saddle and show their gaits? I'm interested to see how their temperaments change while ridden compared to loose together. Thx for making this very original video. I'm looking for a steady eddy, gaited horse for trails.

There are so many but just know that you can do most everything from the ground then easily convert it to undersaddle, they figure it out fast once they connect the dots. Most important are just basics, good with vet and shoer, stands, trailer loads easily and good ground manners. The rest comes with time. The foundation is the most important and that they respect people

My mother's friend had a TWH. She lived on a dairy farm. When we went to visit. Florence would get out her Walker so we could ride. I was pretty short and couldn't reach the stirrups. That didn't stop me. So, I can say the first horse I ever rode was a TWH. As I got older, we would go riding together. I loved horses, still do. I ended up with Appaloosas until my back no longer allowed me to ride trotters. My last horse was a Paso Fino, it was like sitting in a chair. He became ill and the vets couldn't help him; so, I had to have him euthanized. I no longer have horses; but still love them.

I have a Foxtrotter-cross molly mule. So comfortable and fun to ride. Slower gaiting than a TWH-cross mule but plenty speedy for me!

It is always so good to see someone who actually knows horses - and their horses !! I know way too many who have them, but just don't know them. Same with dogs. A Favorite was my OT Standardbred pacer - 2 gears of various speeds - walk and pace. He did not enjoy cantering or gallop. Amazing horse - strong willed but solid minded. Always ready. Glady subscribed - I like your style !

Pacing is not a gait that TW or TM horses' owners want. It's uncomfortable to sit, & undesirable if shown. Also, you don't know how they go, until they are ridden. They may need a trained rider to get the gait right.
