I watched this video after I watched the "ground and pound" footwork video you did and noticed your student was hitting the court with the balls off his feet first instead of his heels. It's cool how you can learn so much advanced, yet nuanced, techniques from your videos. Keep up the good work, Karue!

Can you elaborate more on that spacing?? Feel like that's where I get held up a lot too and often get jammed being too close to the ball

Really great, easy to follow advice. Was I seeing correctly that one of the striking differences between the pro you showed and your student was grip tension? The pro wasn’t even using his index finger, and the student had a tighter grip? I know when my hand is tight, EVERYTHING becomes a push! Thanks for the great video.

Definitely true feet and shoulder is more important than lag but you should still make sure you have some lag or your shot just won’t be that good

Great job w the student; teacher who taught him that original FH should be banned. Too much emphasis on topspin (swing and extreme grip).

What does mean "do not drop racket"?

The player is trying to do the passive wrist thing because some coach told him to. Look at his racket after contact - zero drive, weak, ball pushing him around. Coaches need to stop this nonsense. The wrist is active, it’s where acceleration is highest, it triggers timing, it gives spin, it creates follow through, it is the swing within the swing - it was active in the 70s and it’s more active now.
