Sure, it wasn't deliberate, but it was incredibly reckless and therefore deserved the warning. There's a reason you don't see this routinely happening in tennis. Not difficult to avoid hitting it at your opponent.

if a footballer got hit in the eye they would die on the spot. It actually sucks getting even a light bump on your eye, worse if the eye is open at the time, and its something rough like a fuzzed up tennis ball. It can be watering for hours afterwards. Not ideal for trying to play tennis with
