Das war noch Qualitätsfernsehen. Zwei Profis bei der Arbeit. Leider gibt es von dieser Art Journalismus mit Qualität, Einfühlungsvermögen und Taktgefühl heute nicht mehr viel. Vielen Dank fürs Hochladen. Vielleicht sollten wir uns alle mal besinnen, das wir es als Gesellschaft schon mal besser hinbekommen haben. So eine Sendung wäre heute leider nicht mehr möglich. Allein schon wegen der gezeigten Klassenfotos.

I’m a little sad to hear her say “perhaps my backhand didn’t turn out too well” because in my humble opinion her backhand was the best shot in all of tennis. She hit it deep, aggressive, kept it low with slice, and used it to draw a week reply that she would then crush with her forehand. As needed (to keep her opponents honest) she could alter the stroke slightly and hit amazing dropshots or hit a topspin drive down the line. Her powerful forehand was so effective BECAUSE of her beautiful, dynamic backhand.

naja, in den ersten 5 Minuten bereits zwei Fehler. Martina hatte damals geweint, weil sie mit Berlin zwar nahe ihrer tschechoslovakischen Heimat gespielt hatte und nicht hinkonnte. Und in Paris 1988 hat sie gegen Zvereva gewonnen und nicht Sabatini.
