People should learn to criticize more politely, this girl hasn’t done anything wrong to u guys, shes practicing for her dreams of going pro (im assuming) and trying her hardest (based on the way i see her play) so respect that, although i do agree that some of her ground strokes are a bit stiff and not suited for long, drawn out games, she still has fantastic athleticism and power
@coryCuc5 жыл бұрын
There's nothing wrong with harsh criticism. On the women's tour many of the younger players obviously never received harsh criticism. If you get upset over words, you have bigger problems.

I really appreciate her attitude. That type of ferocity is so important. She is one driven young lady. I will point out I'm concerned about her lack of relaxation. It's so important for her long-term physical tennis health. Her movement needs more fluidity so that she is maximizing movement and conserving energy. I thought about her knees and hips and possibly her athletic stance may start out too low. Just sharing because she seems like a very driven young lady. Thank you for reading

There’s something I really hate about her forehand. Edit: I get that this comment was a year ago but I’d like to make myself a little clearer. Never in my comment did I say or mean to imply that this girl is a bad or untalented player. I simply don’t like the way her forehand looks, and that is up to me whether I like it or not.
@truckerjoseph39495 жыл бұрын
Common Dirtbagz if she keeps bending that low when dehydrated her legs could cramp too. She had good racquet head speed in those drills. But she should clean the gaps of that forehand to make it a more effortless kill shot.
@daniellarsson89375 жыл бұрын
So it's not only me. Still her level is pretty impressive considering she lacks natural talent.

Daniel LM I agree to. But she moves good and her shots have good foot work behind them. Her athletic ability looks pretty natural to me. Her shots will keep improving the more matches and drills she does.

This video showcased Urritias' strengths, which is mainly hitting flat balls back really hard. Pretty much every D1 player can do that, because just like her, they get drilled on pounding back flat shots. Does she have game beyond hitting flat? Can she lob, drop shot, angle, change spins and speeds? Can she develop a game plan for each opponent? Can she adapt within a match to gain advantage? Unfortunately, a simple ground stroke drill cannot show us any of these other things. I will say her backhand did not impress me. Too flat to compete with players that can drive it higher with heavy topspin. Also, she floated her slice bh exactly where a sneaky player would come forward to volley it. I would attack her backhand side with high, heavy topspin, then stroll forward to volley the other way.

Comments should always be constructive but she is hitting very flat shots, especially from the backhand side where she does not have a racket drop before contact which is causing her to hit shots into the net or long without the heavy topspin of top players. But very dedicated and impressive prospect.

She has been trained to play so low to the ground Which may provide more power But this will cause her to lose mor matches against people who naturally play higher balls and deeper shots Therefor all those really hard shots she hits, she will only be able to do those every 1/10 shots
@icebear3265 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I see a couple of flaws with her playing. She has really strong ground strokes and she can approach the net tacticaly, but she seems to have a week backhand because she runs way out of her way to hit a forehand, and also like you said.
@zoetbulle89195 жыл бұрын
Yeah. That’s true. Also she needs to be more relaxed when playing her backhands. There’s a difference between forcing it and hitting the ball. But all in all, I think she’s a fantastic player and could go really far. I’d like to be able to practice with her

She's a great player, with an excellent forehand. Skimming through the comments, half the fun on YT, I couldn't help but notice a fair bit of criticism. Maybe this will help: 1. these are power drills - you hit the ball at maximum intensity for a short duration. You don't always play like this every point. The video doesn't show the down time between exercises. 2. Some players are louder than others, it's meant to sound intimidating and can help certain players with their rhythm. She's by no means the loudest man or woman out there. A wider topic of conversation no doubt. 3. what's not to like about her forehand!?!? :P I (and secretly 99% of commenters) would love to hit a fh that good!
