Wait til you try Tour M8 and Paradox Pro. If you’re feeling really adventurous, tour sniper mains with paradox pro crosses hits like a dream

YESSS, would love to see you trying TourM8, hands down one of my favorite strings at low tensions, somewhere at 43-42lbs, I’m looking to try toursniper next but Tour M8 beats out Confidential, Toroline, Zero, And especially hyper G, I think it’s the best string on the market but just a little pricey with shipping

It definitely looked like a string with a lot of control in watching you guys hit. The main downsides of ALU Power for me are tension loss and cost. I switched to Hyper-G and it wins in every category for me except for feel but I can live with the loss of feel if everything else is good. Could you compare it to Hyper-G or state how long before it goes dead? I can get 8 hours out of ALU Power and 16 out of Hyper-G. I got the feeling that both of you could have dropped tension a few pounds.

So tour sniper doesn’t really ever go dead. It just changes its properties I feel and it feels a little stiffer over time. You get a reduction in spin and comfort but you can really play with this one for a long time. I personally am moving towards softer strings so that is why this isn’t necessarily my cup of tea.

@@tenniswithandy This sounds a lot like Hyper-G. I assume that the decline in spin is do to the loss of shaping as the edges wear off. I love the feel that you get with stiffer strings but I also like not having arm problems. So I would probably enjoy this string in hitting with it but it doesn't sound like it will knock me off Hyper-G. One of the nicest things about Hyper-G is that my stringer charges half of what he charges for ALU. He always has it in stock and I think that he has 5 different versions of it as the green is noticeable. Good to know that there is a stiffer poly out there that doesn't go dead. I strung ALU Power at 51 and find that 54 is the sweet spot for Hyper-G for me. I have a hard time imagining stringing at 58 pounds in a copoly. I used to string 60-62 with tournament nylon back in the 1980s but that string really loosened up. I'm not a big fan of stringing really loosely either. I did not like going higher or lower than 51 for ALU Power.

@@movdqa it is more like Luxilon alu power rough without the sharp decline in tension. Tour sniper is noticeably stiffer than hyper G, but at the same time, it provides more feedback than hyper G. One of the biggest complaints with hyper G is that it feels mushy and plasticky, tour sniper feels more connected and metallically (I’m making up words now 😂).

@@tenniswithandy Yes, the complete lack of feel is my only issue with it. Hyper-G gives me 16-20 hours of play, is easy on the arm, comparable spin to ALU, costs much less. I can also just leave it in a frame for a long time while ALU loses tension and playability on the shelf. So the benefits of Hyper-G far outweigh the one negative. If I strung my own racquets and string cost wasn't an issue, then I'd just use ALU. But my stringer is 30 minutes away and 8 hours of play out of strings just doesn't work.16 hours per stringing doesn't sound like a big increase but it just feels like I'm spending less time dropping off and then picking up racquets. I can see why stringing delivery services exist.

@@movdqa what gauge of hyper G do you use? I find that 17 provides better feel than 16 and 16L. If you’re not a string breaker, going with the thinner gauge might solve your issue with hyper G.

Requires break in for one session which your elbow will feel, after that its golden. Restring Zero is better.
