@@nathanwen2701 5 grams is actually not bad. But check the swingweight, that's the real deal breaker
@2ndAveScents4 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. 5 grams is a whole lotta graphite
@k1r10244 жыл бұрын
@@2ndAveScents hey man, you are entitled to your own opinion. But did you know that an overgrip weighs more than 5 grams? Did you know a vibration dampener also weighs more than 5 grams? I'm willing to bet most people wouldn't notice the change in weight caused by these things. Thus, 5 grams is actually not a big deal for static weight. Balance and swingweight are more important

@Hunt Mike Depends where the 5 grams is. You could quite easily add 5g lead to make up for a racquet being 5g under spec.

Quite accurate on everything: - Wilson Raquets quality control is really poor, too much "volatilty" between pairs; probably the best in matching raquets is Yonex - As for balls, nothing to say, they're good balls, nothing exeptional but definitely not bad. - Wilson overgrip is my choice of use, but onestly I tried it many years ago because of RF but I've never had regret - I actually like their Poly strings, here in Italy is named Wilson Sensation, don't know if it's the same. - I've had their replacement grips on my sticks, always covered with overgrips, but I think they're quite good. - Definetly agree on the bags, had one for some years but I had to throw it away before the white plastic material started to deteriorate and come off

I have 4 RF 97s and have had 2 before, and the weight of the 2 heaviest was 8 grams more than the 2 lightest. Swing weight and balance are very important and I've noticed significant differences which I rectify with lead tape. Next time I'll get them matched from the start, great raquet though. The sponge grip they make is excellent, even if you don't sweat a lot. No issues with paint.
@PL-fh8cz3 жыл бұрын
Exactly my experience too... I have 1 V11 and 3 V12 racquets and everyone has a different overall weight and a different swing weight. I also used to string them with Champ's Choice but the Nat, Gut was crap. Now I buy Luxilon ALU rough and Klip gut. It save a few bucks and lasts a lot longer. I had one with paint peeling off which Wilson replaced.
@nicolewb244 жыл бұрын
Great video. Agree on almost everything you said except on the NXT. I don’t use it any more, I go full bed poly now, but as far as synth gut goes it’s kind of the gold standard. Love their over grips, no one else’s even come close. I own (and play) w pro staff 97 CVs, and can’t bring myself to get rid of my Clash 100s. Wilson racquets are the best IMO- only Yonex comes close. Funny on the Tungsten - I just got a pack in the mail today from Tennis Express. Was going to weight one of my Clashes to see if I’d like it more closer 315g unstrung. Hope the tape just doesn’t fall off.

@Hunt Mike. China can make very high quality. It just depends on what the principle is willing to pay! BTW Wilson is a Chinese owned company now. Anta Sports bought over Amer Sports that owns Wilson in 2019. Anta makes many great products especially basketball shoes.
@maznshortie14 жыл бұрын
@Hunt Mike It's a bit racist to make such a blanket statement about Chinese people based on a product coming from an AMERICAN company . Poor QC comes from greedy companies knowing they can get away with it because they've monopolized the market. Buy from companies with better QC such as Yonex or Angell. This all comes down to corporations being complacent and not caring about the quality of their product. Only thing we can do is take our dollars elsewhere.

The most expensive bag I ever bought ..... the strap broke in less than 6 months, not to mention that it was impossible to carry over the shoulder as it had a weird balance so always wanted to come off your shoulder .... Shocking design, as if no one actually tested it once it was made .... totally crazy. Will NEVER buy a Wilson bag ever again. I may play with the Clash but I carry it in a Tecnifibre bag.

I use Wilson pro overgrip. I string my 12 year old's racquet with Wilson sensation, mostly because it is the cheapest available multi. My daughter and wife both wear Rush Pro 2.5 and will be getting the 3.0 next year. They used to wear Nike Vapor X but we got tired of them getting worn out in 3 months and needing to get them in wide width. Rush Pro 2.5 is a great shoe! Agreed that the bags look crappy except for the Fed bags. The Blade is super popular. I have not seen the Clash around my courts although I recommend it to anybody looking to move up from a recreational racquet.

What happened to Wilson's matched racquets? Back when the PS Hyper Tour was the RF racquet, I had a matched pair. How do their player racquets differ? I like the feel of both strings because they are good on the arm, shoulder&elbow. But, the durability of Sensation and NXT can definitely be enhanced to make customers return for the string and they are pricy. My Federer canvas bag is sooo much a better bag. Partnering with other string companies is a great Wilson idea. I'm a great fan of the Wilson Pro Staff line and the Spin series racquets.

I have 4 Pro Staff RF two match up exactly one is 5g heavier one 9g . The 9g really makes a difference I use it for very slow conditions only. But also the two that are the same plays different . One is much more stiffier any plays like another raquet. I bought this one a year later maybe that´s the reason why. But man I like the feel of the Pro Staff. Had the 90 and 95 before with even more feel but more difficult two play in the defence. Tried Dunlop and Head before but I always lost the feel during a game with these.
