I play with a Prostaff X strung with Tourna Silver 7 Tour 17g in the mains (50 lbs) and Luxilon 4G 17g in the crosses (48lbs). The spin and tension maintenance are unbelievable. I play 5 to 6 times per week (2 hrs+ each time) and the setup still feels lively after 6 months. I usually restring every 3 months

I’m playing with Pro Staff 97 V13, using Luxilon 4G 17 gage on mains with 48 lbs, on the crosses - Wilson syn gut “power”16 gage 48 lbs. It works great , as mains are contributing 70% of string bed performance, softer crosses letting mains to function their best. Works for me so far😊

Dan also pushes his dampeners all the way to the bottom instead of pushing them to touch the bottom string! I started doing this when I got tired of them coming off

There's definitely to this that some strings play better in some racquets than others (or certain racquets suit certain strings).

Not sure why you would want to string the Pro Staff at 57 and 55, then let it break in after three sessions so that it then feels like 52 or 50. Why not just string it at a lower tension that it feels great right out of the gate? This seems to be some serious Nigel Tufnel Spinal Tap logic.😂 Nigel: this one is strung at 57 for that little extra. Rob Reiner: Yeah, but it feels better at 52. Nigel: well it will feel like 52 in three hours. Rob Reiner: so just string it at 52 and it will feel amazing right away. Nigel: it’s strung at 57.

Is it ok to use different gages of strings on one racquet? E.G. 17 gage on mains, 16G on crosses? (1.25 , 1.30).

DAN! How did you gloss up the Furi AP98 racquets? Sensei, please share your ways.

Eastwood 2k clear coat but some viewers haven’t had good results so don’t try it unless you are really good with spray paint and don’t mind risking a racquet, use a test racquet first and follow the instructions.

Why are dampners placed so low ?
@rendyonline19 күн бұрын
Funny how you observe this too. I did this because one of my rackets as it has an annoying ping on hit but I didn't want to completely remove that... so having it down kinda allows it to dampen enough to still have a little ping.

It dampens less when you put it lower

@@CB-mr1cihe wants to feel the ball more that’s why he just told you he does that, and doesn’t want the vibration dampener to take as much of the feel from the ball and mute it as much

The only person in the world who believes that gloss paints give more feeling, and he's also a so-called scientist Is everything okay?
@danben-ora72218 күн бұрын
I can’t feel the difference, clear coat is just cosmetic but the 2k is very hard and helps protect softer paints.

Too bad you only used small PLAYERS rackets in this video. I would have like to seen combos on oversize rackets as well. I know everyone seems to be using 98-100 sq inch rackets only. I see 2.5-3.0 players who ALL would play better with oversize rackets. In a low powered Volkl 4 I use a soft poly in main with 18g synthetic crosses. in OS rackets dead poly or aramid mains so frame no more powerful than a 100 frame
