Sam Groth’s 163 was a miscalibrated radar gun on the challenger tour. When Sam got his chance to prove on centre courts at Wimbledon and US open he could not top 147.

Watching these highlights, you can see what Djokovic does better nowadays. For one, he is a better striker of the ball. So many shots in these highlights, he was either late or just not taking the ball as early as he does nowadays. A small difference in position for when he is hitting some of the shots. His balance is a little better. Overall, the small differences really help.

He plays smarter true, better service better shot placement, etc. However, his balls are too weak.Rarely he produces a strong winner. Many young guys who was on his day with enough consistency beat Djokovic of 2018-2019 because they played power game and Djoko was always in defence. Very efficient but overrated. 16th and 17th slams were out of his hands in finals, gifted by the opposing dumb player
@JiraiyaSama86
@JiraiyaSama86 4 жыл бұрын
Wreckless G mostly gifted by his dumber opponents? Doubtful. Djokovic most of the time puts himself in the right position. But furthermore, he plays it more central when compared to Federer and Nadal, so he won’t gift as much space. But furthermore, by putting opponents into more uncomfortable positions or situations more often, you’ll find that anyone would start gifting more errors or sitters. That’s just the norm in tennis. He just does it incredibly and efficiently well. That’s the optimum way to attack in tennis- put them in positions or situations that they don’t want to be in, make them hit shots they don’t want to hit. Forget about winners or errors, and just make them uncomfortable.
@wrecklessg6710
@wrecklessg6710 4 жыл бұрын
@@JiraiyaSama86 efficient true but you sugarcoated well. He is a baseline bot, ugly to watch, 2018 -2019 version is fully defensive only waiting for opponent error. Fedal might be more prone to him but he doesn't have an answer to a consistent 1st strike tennis. And he can't do that any more. Not that he was a striker anyway save 2011 and here and there. Pity since 2017 next gen couldn't step up otherwise there was no Djoko with 17. Really weak era. Nadal is a bad match up to Djoko that's it but Nadal never has had a weakness to youngsters. He can still play aggressively, indeed, he developed his game into such. Fed is always Fed, attack tennis, but now he is too old. 2017 Fed at 35 yo would have crushed this Djoko even best in AO. Even grandpa Fed crushed Djoko dreams in ATP finals when he was dying to finish no.1. Efficient but overrated.
