Sad for cazaux that Felix steals this one.:
@Askaa8815 күн бұрын
Remember from 2018 to 2022, the media and commentators were praising the then teenage Felix up to the sky and beyond that he would become the next big thing. He did get his breakthrough year in 2022 tho, but since then, he's scrambling for wins and the reason is pretty much unknown. He's motivated, works hard, has the right attitude and has a big game but what's still obvious about his game is: a weak backhand that only keeps him in the rally instead of being one of his weapons, kinda like Ruud is. In this modern day of tennis, a backhand is pretty much make or break, look at the top of the game, all strong backhands. Only a good serve and forehand will not cut it anymore.
@Ninja-gt3zi14 күн бұрын
Dont forget his huge mental problem. The hype was deserved he nearly won 30 games in a row. Hiring nadal as a coach was a huge mistake since then and the injury not the same

What would miss to Korda to win a GC ?😢😢
@seancarroll580315 күн бұрын
Are you asking what Korda is missing to win a grand slam? If so 1. Speed on court: he isn’t fast enough side to side and that is critical to winning a grand slam 2. Inconsistent forehand: too often he shanks his forehand or leaves it in the middle of the court court for his opponent to take control of the point 3. May be too injury prone: he seems to get serious injuries in his arm part of his body, if this persists he may never progress to grand slam champion With that being said I believe Korda has the ability to win a grand slam when his game comes together more and if he can keep improving. He has a great chance at Wimbledon as he is great on grass and has arguably the best net transition and volley in tennis right now
@fwvw705615 күн бұрын
@@seancarroll5803probably by deduction of your points he misses the running foregand and backhands down the line to turn defence into offence. If he is in control he can send the best players left to right but a crucial aspect what sets apart Sinner and Alcaraz is that they can be pressured into awkward defensive positions and still hit balls that put pressure back. Mostly a consequence of your first point about lateral movement. And I didn't analyse his game, but how is his second serve. A lot of good but not top players have a good first serve but are vulnerable on the second.
@diegosotomiranda410715 күн бұрын
@@fwvw7056totally, Korda it's a textbook brilliant player, but In GS and big tournaments you need an extra, mentality, Grit, knowing how to handle moments when not all goes perfect, Korda has impecable form, but when it isn't he's prone to errors or being dominated from the baseline

George Orwell once said something like, "It is the duty of every intellectual at times to state the obvious," so here goes. We all know that at elite levels teeny tiny difference make big differences. Still, I find myself astounded that someone as good as Felix isn't at the top of the ranking. Same for Thiem or Dimitrov and others. Somehow my brain refuses to accept the facts: that as good as these players are, there is always a handful better. Ouch. Also, in the 70's with wooden racquets and mostly one-handed back-hands, I read a book about Bille Jean King, and one of her tactics was to send a very high moon ball to her opponent's backhand side, which, in that era, usually evoked a kind of puny response that could then be volleyed away. I think players now have strategies for such moonballs, but I was curious if others knew about this.
@Fedthebest7515 күн бұрын
Dimitrov indeed is sort of a mystery given he's got every shot in the book (it's all mental probably), but Felix doesn't have half his talent. Very one-dimensional player and I don't feel like he's been improving his variety

If Guinard is aiming for the big time, he really needs to get rid of that stupid grunt. How about he watches Tommy Paul, his opponent, who hits the ball just as hard as he does yet has no need to make idiotic noises. No one does. It is an affectation. I saw a rank amateur the other day grunting uncontrollably as he hit every shot, even drop shots. He has learned that behaviour from pros, and came across as an utter fool, so stupid. Why do these players do it? Just hit the ball! You do not need to shout as you are doing it.
