His tears on the podium. He clearly was playing for Argentina and nothing else. Have to respect that. The thing about the underarm serve is that by the laws and rules of tennis, its totally fine. Does it seem like a slimy move, also yes.

I dont get how. Legitimate strategy to keep opponent off balance.

It's humiliating to the opponent when it helps you win the point, but like you said completely legitimate.

@@Mzee1084 I guess what’s the difference between that and playing a drop shot when someone is way behind the baseline on the other side of the court?

Underarm serves are perfectly fine. I hate it when the crowd boos
@santiagoreyes43444 жыл бұрын
in that match the second time he did it in the tie break, Seyboth Wild was clearly not ready for any kind of serve, it doesn’t matter if it was underarm or not, he just wasn’t on position and the umpire didn’t care at all, that’s why it is unfair. The first time he did it wasn’t wrong at all though
@Thiago-vk8kx4 жыл бұрын
This video didn't show the context, i was on this match and Thiago Wild cleary wasn't ready after a discussion they had with the umpire
@samurai74114 жыл бұрын
Idk, it's one of those things that they can't outlaw (like if a player is injured/cramping and can't serve overhead) but also should not encourage since an underarm serve for a normal player is clearly not their "best effort"
@bluengrey14 жыл бұрын
@@samurai7411 They're putting effort into trying to be deceptive. According to your logic a drop shot of any kind doesn't qualify as "best effort." Pace doesn't necessarily equal effort.
@vasishtvasudevan40594 жыл бұрын
If you're gonna stand a metre or 2 behind the baseline, you better be ready for underarm servers. Its just another variation. If the receiver can stand as behind as he wants to counter a guys serve strength, the server also gets to counter the counter with underarm
