The same Rafa fans that ridiculed Novak by saying 22>21 are now saying that the stats don't matter. Lol. Guess stats don't matter when it's not favouring the player that you back! They're all unbelievable players who've dominated men's tennis for two decades. Give them the level of respect they rightly deserve without any bias. As for the GOAT debate, let's have that talk at the end of their careers. Let them do their job, let them continue to display their greatness. Just sit back and enjoy.

@@tennisradu it might as well be. he'll lose 1100 points from acapulco and indian wells taking him down to 2700 which would currently place him at 12. the only way he stays in the top 10 is if norrie doesnt match his acapulco and indian wells points, if fritz makes the quarters or semis at indian wells he'll stay ahead of nadal, and no other player above him really did that good in the sunshine double last year except alcaraz but hes too far ahead anyway. so yeah unfortunately after an 18 year streak of being in the top 10 it will come to an end

Yes one thing sure is that Novak goes credit for this thing that he has given belief to other tennis players that they can beat Rafa on clay though only few of them succeeded.Otherwise previously they consider defeat before start of the match against Nadal on clay. Also Federer winning streak against Rafa in later part of his career is due to tactics change inspired by Novaks tactical change he adapted since 2011.

You need excellence over nearly two decades. *Top Players in Open Era* (GS/Titles/Matches Won/Matches Won%) (20+/90+/1000+/82%+) 1. Djokovic (22/93/1043/83.5%) 2. Nadal (22/92/1068/82.9%) 3. Federer (20/103/1251/82.0%)

I'm Spaniard but for me the greatest ever is Novak. We will never see anything again like Novak, Rafa and Roger but Djokovic is the one that ended having the best records and stats, but even if I recognise Djokovik as the best my favourite will always be Rafa Nadal, his fighting spirit is truly inspiring, the best Spanish athlete of all time.

Fun retrospective, to see the greatest and third greatest of all time against one another. I put Federer ahead of Nadal for his more comprehensive wins, and Federer was never a quitter, and more than a few times Nadal was. Always "injury" but at times he just appeared beaten and pulled a Henin. You see, who talks about her anymore? She made tennis the gift that was to give to her first and only and when it didn't pan out that way, she quit. She held up her hand and then lied about it. Instant replay exposed the lie as it happened. She was the child who woke to hear the rest of the family already awake on christmas morning, and cries instead of joining the fun. Nadal seemed to have more than a touch of that. Coupled, surely, with real injuries. So he gets, I think, a bit more of a pass than he deserves simply for at times being unprofessional in a way that is damaging to the sport. Federer, to my mind, never put himself ahead of the sport, and certainly never quit. The three Paragons, who without a single question were the greatest to play, and all at nearly the same time... To have compiled such records in the midst of one another... what a privilege it was to witness the grandeur of the best that can be offered to date. (The sport always progresses.) But the greatest, beyond question, is Djokovic. He has the DOD media against him, probably because of guilt over actions taken to balkanize Serbia, Croatia, Czech Republic. Upon reflection, what a gracious and generous soul Mr Djokovic turns out to be. And as stated by someone in a position to know a lot about the subject, it was stated on a Grand Slam Court that Djokovic is the greatest to have held a racquet. And so it is. Not even my favorite, because when the media is so wholly aligned against someone, the best most can muster is no opinion. Crowd reactions are a testament to the power of media. I look forward to the day when Mr Djokovic is able to reflect upon his life and his country and speak freely. We live in a time where that is frowned upon. In reality, we should and think most do, admire and love the greatest player to have held a racquet: Novak Djokovic.
