Kyrgios is the biggest hit for every type of video. They all put him on the front cover and they get an automatic click. It's the same set of clips every time - shock horror ones that make people hate him - but anybody who watches his matches actually find out that he can play. January 2020 was quite an eye opener for the Australian crowds who didn't know he was any good because the media don't tell us. He's not on grand slam winners - along with 995 other players in the top 1000.

10:59 I am going to argue that Mayer made a mistake here that could have costed him the match. I am not judging him, and in fact I feel sorry for him. It's just something that we all can learn from to become better. Mayer hits a great fast serve to Federer's backhand, and he decides to serve-and-volley, but he didn't have much time to get in position at the net to play a good volley. Federer made the correct decision to hit a short slice return since he saw Mayer charging forward, and a short ball will make Mayer's volley very difficult. If Mayer insisted to serve-and-volley, I think it's better for him to use more slice on the serve and aim at Federer's body: this will give Mayer more time to approach the net and jam up Federer's return. Mayer did very well to catch up to Federer's short slice return, but he picked a wrong target for the first volley. Federer wasn't in position, and I think Mayer's better play would be a deep volley down the line. Nevertheless, Mayer was under immense pressure while I am comfortably sitting down, enjoying hindsight bias. That match must had had been a cruel blow to Mayer's confidence, and I really hope he can again become the great player he is meant to be.

Basilashvili is very classy during his matches, he behaves like a gentleman in the court. His intervention to convince Pablo Cuevas not to abandon the match is a good example.

I'm a die hard nadal fan, but I have to call it like it is and say that it's ridiculous he can call a redo when the server dictates the pace of the points. That should have been a clean ace.

I don't like that particully behavior of nadal. He is not as humble as everyone says. When he argued about the warnings for example. He is so competitive and also big three that I think they truly show who they really are when they are loosing
@tom0176devo4 жыл бұрын
Crowd were still loud, he was only just getting into his return position. I can understand why Kyrgios is frustrated but it's a well known fact that he purposely rushes his opponents when he's serving, doesn't give them any time to regain a normal heart rate. Nadal sweats a lot, and runs a lot, meaning he needs more time to set himself, players like Kyrgios shouldn't be allowed to take 2 seconds between points. Not fair on the returner
@DiesDasDaniel4 жыл бұрын
@@tom0176devo then Nadal has to speed up in games like that. It's not kyrgios problem that nadal need that much time.
@SJ-di5zu4 жыл бұрын
I somewhat agree but both players need to be ready for the point to start. As long as Nadal’s routine isn’t taking most of the shot clock, it’s fair to expect Kyrgios to not serve immediately. Think about it: for 99.9% of Nadal’s career he’s ready to return when the other guy is about to serve, but on this one point, match point for Nadal, he’s not ready for the serve? I get the feeling Kyrgios served as soon as possible to catch Rafa off guard purposely, hoping he could get away with it.
@starrynight56334 жыл бұрын
Nadal is known to abuse his fame to break tennis rules like that one. He did the same thing against Medvedev in USO 2019 where he stopped his serve many times. He started the drama with Nick because of that and Nick is 100% right about it. Nadal does not play clean tennis like Federer or Novak at all. He likes to use tricks and break rules. His true nature shows up when he is about to lose against someone outside of the big 3.

1:15 why did he kick him like that, it was obviously intentional
@tirthankarsarkar42064 жыл бұрын
He kicked it to vent out his frustration of getting his serve broken at a critical juncture in the second set. But to his surprise, the board broke & injured the person badly. He intentionally kicked it, but the board getting broken (& injuring that elderly man) was unintentional.

had to google the incident with cuevas. i have to say i am with him. what a absurd threat of the umpire to give him a warning for not showing enough effort. thats not fair or umpire-like behaviour, what the hell was this guy thinking. if this is true cuevas was right to mock him.
@MisterReZ2 жыл бұрын
Before 5-4 he wasnt giving his best, so the umpire told him that in good terms, but cuevas acted like a toddler and it all went downhill from there. To me it was 85%-90% Cuevas' fault.
@jaymercer46922 жыл бұрын
Cuesvas was acting childish and unsportsmanlike. It ruins the game for your opponent if you start messing around. If they win they deserve to win properly after all the effort they’ve put in and it’s rude to just act like a child and ruin the game.
