Iga is being exploited by media and her psychologist. This constant pressure of must win attitude, don't show emotion, behave like a queen can be destructive for Iga. The western media and "experts" want to create Iga the Victorious Queen, the polish media and her psychologist want to create Iga the Pitbul ready for fight on the call. Daria, her psychologist, is on the court a distractive force and not the help for Iga. Iga is just a woman, delicate human being, not a hero from the movies.

And to all those who criticized me personally without presenting arguments related to tennis on grass. Gauff just lost the match with Navarro, falling into the same trap as Iga. Strength and uncontrolled aggression do not win on grass. Navarro played a classic style without forcing the ball. She lets the ball come to her and doesn't go for the ball too aggressively like Coco did. It made me sad to see how helpless her coaches were when she turned to them in times of need. But it would be enough to tell Coco to move away from the ball a little and play calmly when the ball comes to her.

What did Emma think was going to happen once she dropped out of the doubles match with Murray? Especially when the media made such a big deal about Emma & Murray playing doubles & it was going to be his last event played at Wimbledon now all Murray’s fans are upset & rightfully so you can’t blame them especially now that Emma is playing in her singles match! It’s hard to say how the crowd will react in your singles match?
@ynot7787

Emma opting out to play mixed doubles was a wise decision. The most important reason is for Emma to avoid the huge serves and powerful ground strokes from the male opponent. Any poor contact from Emma can cause severe jarring to her wrists. Not least, there is no such rule that the male opponent cannot direct his shots all the time at a female opponent. At the end of the day, it will not benefit Emma in her preparation for singles.

As a black Brit I think Andy wanted attention for his vanity farewell match and picked Emma for that reason. He shouldn’t have put so much pressure on Emma who’s playing well for the first time in a long while. I might even think she was pressured into saying yes by the occasion and Andy himself phoning her to ask for the partnership. It might even be her team that encouraged her to pull out to give precedence to her singles match. This Wimbledon is wide open she’s a slam winner she knows how to do this, very poor decision by Andy. Judy Murray’s pile on was unnecessary, now Emma is getting a backlash from Scottish people mainly, such a pity the Murray’s have opened that on Emma in the middle of a GS tournament.

Very good points! Also, I believe that Andy should come out and say something in Emma's defense! They're trashing that girl for doing what's best for HER instead of their golden boy! Ask someone whose had wrist surgery (Dominic Thiem; Juan Martin; Muchova) how it feels! Del Po (one of my favorite players and people in the world) never could come back from it and Thiem has to retire early because of it. People need to stay OUT of other people's lives and decisions unless they personally ASK and/or invite you in!

Sorry to say, but the backlash & pile-on to Emma pulling out of the mixed-doubles, is just another example of bare faced misogyny… Why should Emma have to sacrifice a potentially deep run at this years Wimbledon, just so Andy can have one more match; He had his last match at Wimbledon with his brother on Thursday, which was the perfect send-off. Yulia said in press after match key to beating Iga on grass is play fast. Iga has LESS TIME to set up her shots on grass. Iga groundstrokes the grip she uses on forehand isn't as effective on grass. She loses time on grass for her shots. Yulia mixing it up with drop shots and slice smart. Iga definitely didn't expect that. Iga is one dimensional something people seem afraid to mention. She didn't try anything different. On grass Iga needs to adapt and come to net more. She didn't attack Yulia serve enough.

Because the majority of tennis fan deal in emotions not facts! If you are in the tournament you have a chance to win. It’s that simple. Women and men tennis is filled with depth. On any given Saturday or Sunday any player can win. Others players lose the same top players lose, not executing at the right time. The player forced her into errors mixing up not like Gruff , Sabalanka , etc. Plus the other player was going toe to toe off ground. Give the other player credit!

I’m not sure what you’re saying is as true with grand slam Tournaments. Otherwise we would see players ranked #80 winning slams. What you’re saying, anyone has a chance, etc. etc. might apply for one match, but not 7 matches or whatever you need to win in total for a slam. That’s why we usually see the very top players winning. There’s a reason they are top players, they are ALOT better and more consistent

This mixed dubs match was never planned, it was a spur of the moment deal. Andy messaged Emma after 9pm on the evening before the draw was to be made. Emma answered within 10 seconds, this had been one of her dream matches. Andy was wrong to ask her without the usual discussions with her and her crew about the risks and pitfalls. Withdrawal is always a possibility. He should’ve known better. He could have asked Katie Boulter instead, Britain’s #1, who was already out of the singles competition. After almost a year of wrist pain impeding her tennis, then 8 months surgery/recovery, she is bound to be super-sensitive about anything abnormal. Good call to cancel.

High key you are right about Court 1 being more interesting than Center Court. Emma Raducanu know she is wrong canceling on her uncle like that 😂😂. The Brits won’t forget this…unless she wins Wimbledon of course. It’s unfortunate that Ben had to play three five setters and now he has to play Sinner. I think he would’ve pushed him to five if he had some rest but that’s a grand slam tournament for you. I hope Fritz and Paul keep on moving through the draw. Maybe one of them can be final four.

Swiatek's defeat is normal...in Wimbledon on grass she doesn't have time to hit the ball hard and easily with lift compared to Roland Garros like Nadal did. On grass the ball bounces at a more open angle of 35 degrees and faster. In Roland Garros the ball bounces almost at closed angles and higher with less speed since they swell on the impact of the clay like compressed beach sand... it is perfectly clear that technical tennis is on grass...

Let's try to look at this match from a slightly different perspective. Iga played a very good first set. She had everything under control and made few unforced mistakes. For unknown reasons, Iga began to force the game in the 2nd and 3rd sets. It was not Putintseva who imposed a faster, aggressive style of play, it was Iga. Iga did it without any need. Now to the point. I am against the presence of an Iga psychologist at Iga matches. I am against the psychologist's advice regarding tennis. Iga is a mature woman who can handle herself on the courts. It's one thing to feel good on the grass (her psychologist's idea) and it's another thing to play on the grass, what the coach teaches. It was not certainty or uncertainty on the grass that caused Iga's defeat today. In the first set, Iga played like she did on clay. She didn't have any problems with the grass. I don't know if you noticed Iga's gesture, as if she wanted to hit the ground with her rocket to release her frustration. There were so many suppressed emotions in Iga today. I am still against the presence of Iga, a psychologist, at matches. I am against the psychologist's advice regarding tennis. Off the court, by all means, if it helps Idze.

Iga played the same and no drop in level. But this no name player started hitting harder with more aggression and took returns early and that shocked Iga.

@@FranciszekLewicki-dm3st good points, but I also think credit must be given to Putintseva who made adjustments and cut down on her own errors which ultimately caused Iga to make more mistakes. But I agree that her first set level was solid

Gheesh! Where do I begin?! I CANNOT with these idol worshipping people such as the Brits (I'm sure not all)! But Mama Murray wants another man (woman) to respect and honor HER child but yet SHE does not respect and honor ANOTHER man's child! Emma is someone's child too. But of course, her life does not dare compare or matter to that of HER child! Surely, that's not what they're implying right?! 🤔

Im sorry but Cocos draw has been ridiculously easy so far. Iga has 5 slams. Yes some early losses but she knows how to win big matches, and ultimately 5>1, as of now.

Iga unfortunately can only dominate on clay in the Slams with her sole US Open win an anomaly because so far the Australian Open and Wimbledon looks beyond her but especially Wimbledon because she has never made it past the QF in all these years she has been coming here. Now, contrast her record to Alcaraz's,who's not only younger than her but has won the US Open, French Open and Wimbledon!😅

@@eyeofthetiger6002The comparison he made was coco vs Iga. nothing about Alcaraz? 5 slams is amazing, period. Idc what surface or how old you are. Most on tour right now. Not to mention ten 1000s.

@@lincolnbaldonado7472 didn't say 5 Slams wasn't impressive but am simply pointing out the fact that Iga is only dominant on clay at the Slams since all but one of her Slams are from the French Open and for such a dominant and an undisputed no1 her records at the remaining Slams are rather poor with Wimbledon being her worst since she has never made in past the QF. Her defeat yesterday to Putintseva was so bad it was embarrassing, she played like a qualifier not a no1 player with 38 unforced errors! I am comparing Iga to Alcaraz to illustrate the real difference between an all court player with all the shots in the book vs one with a rather limited one dimensional style of play.

@@narcyznarcyz-uv4td Lendl reached 2 Wimbledon finals and all those other players you mentioned have all either made it to the semis or finals at RG as no1 players and they were nowhere near as dominant as Iga is right now as no1. Iga has only made the QF once at Wimbledon and that was last year so she has gone backwards this year going out in R3 as was also the case in 2022,in a performance so bad that even she herself must be embarrassed but instead of acknowledging it and praising her opponent she seemed to suggest that grass is an exception that is irrelevant to the rest of the year or her overall performance. I also don't like the fact that yet again she rushed off for a toilet break whenever she's behind and she was rightly booed by the crowd yesterday.
