Speaking voice is a little on the heavy side at the low end for a tenor, but definitely has C5 in strong chest voice. Just from speaking voice, I would see him as a baritenor with a solid upper tenor register. In reality, this is the perfect balance of voice, in my opinion. Very similar vocal timbre to Plácido Domingo, who is a baritenor.

@@johndeeregreen4592 Yes, maybe. However the speaking voice is always a bit tricky. Some people just speak with less/more volume than others and that affects to the perceived "center of the pitch". In this video Carlo speaks relatively softly so the pitch would be a bit lower. But he sounds like a typical tenor to me and in the other videos his singing voice is a classic light/lyric tenor(obviously i could be wrong)
@johndeeregreen4592
@johndeeregreen4592 9 ай бұрын
@@martinhurtadoheredia7436, oh, he is definitely a solid tenor... I just hear a bit more vocal weight on the lower notes. Which is a great thing for an operatic tenor. They tend to darken their lower range, anyway, which having it a bit more naturally gives him more volume down there at C3.

I have a look into your channel. I think you have some interesting material but there are many youtube videos regarding basic stuff for tenor. I think the most interesting part was hearing your renditions of Handel. Thus I think you can differentiate from other youtube stuff if you can build a basic repertoire for tenors that want to start singing opera. Maybe something more accessible to beginners than from C3 to C5. That I have not find in youtube and for all the self learning people searching for online advice it may have more value. So if you manage to make a beginners repertoire from C3 to F4 or something like that you may appeal to many more amateur tenors that are starting to sing. This is just a suggestion, in any case enjoy singing and good luck in your future!

Hi there, thank for your comment! if your vocal range is decreasing it might be due to a wrong technique for your voice, but it could also be for many other reasons, I would seek professional advise with a vocal teacher and have them hear you, so that they can find a reason for this decrease on your vocal range, but hopefully it's something that can be regained once discovered, and in regards to your voice type, I would need to hear you to really tell, and I know it may sound impossible, but there really are some female singers that have a baritone-like sound, although these voices are very rare and unique in its nature, let's not forget our voices are alive and in constant change, evolving through time ☺

Correct me if I'm wrong but you shouldn't be singing c5 in chest voice even if you were a soprano (even though I guess technically they could) around A4/Bb4/B4/C5(depending on your voice type I believe) you should be fully transitioned into mixed voice (which can still sound like chest voice if it's a more chest dominant mix) I'm supposedly a mezzo soprano and I struggle with c5 as well due to improper technique if that makes you feel any better (even though I really think sometimes that I may be a contralto that has been misclassified) If it's something that really bothers you I suggest voice lessons. It has helped me understand the things I'm doing that have been holding me back (tongue tension, unstable larynx,ect) Hope that helps!

Hi there, thanks for leaving a comment! The strain will most likely come from a lack of support; in many cases, when your voice is strained, you may feel strangled in your high register; this can be solved by covering (darkening) the sound as well :) Please remember that this depends on what sound you ultimately want to achieve and the style of music you want to perform. I hope you find my answer helpful! ☺

Thank you for sharing this because I was wondering what it sounded like an opera. I don't know if you're familiar with a band called Deftones but apparently their singer Chino Moreno has a voice in that range. He's been able to hit a C5 and all the way up to a g5. That is insane when we're talking about metal screams. I'm impressed with your voice though, I'm trying to train myself to be able to go that high. I'm a woman and I've been training My voice by singing along with different songs so that way I can get used to the different ranges if you will. I'm getting better. Your voice really is impressive. I was waiting for the windows to shatter lol.

I had to 'see' it on a spectral analyzer to believe it! That 'proper' male voices have almost equal power in the written note and one octave below that! that's why it's written with an 8 below the Sol (G) clef (so what's written would be C4 to C6 and what I would 'hear' as equivalent to female voices, but fundamentals being C3 to C5).
@CARLOORLANDI1
@CARLOORLANDI1 Жыл бұрын
That is correct, to make it simple the written notes are C4 to C6, but the real notes that I am singing are C3 to C5, exactly one octave below, on the other hand female voices do not have this problem, as they often sing one octave above male voices, so they are singing the real notes as written, thank you very much for your comment! ☺

Loved your video! I need a bit of help tho, I can't really afford a vocal coach as of the moment so i decided to ask someone that i think could help me! ( You ) Well, my vocal range is G2 - F#4 - as a 15 y.o. male, i tried hitting G4 but it rarely comes out well, my voice just automatically switches to falsetto which then can go up to F5 ( G5 on a good day ). The question is, is there an easy way to tell what voice type i am, or even how to hit higher notes? I tried watching some tips on KZbin but i find that they don't work as much as I'd like them to do. I'm untrained so that could say a lot, but please let me know! Also if that changes anything, my speaking voice is usually A2-C4! Thanks in advance!

Hi there, thanks for leaving a comment! Unfortunately, I cannot tell you your voice type, mainly because I would need to hear you, and you're 15, so your voice is probably still changing. However, from what you're saying, that register is very commonly found in a tenor; being unable to sing higher than a G4 without going into falsetto is also very common. I could not do it either; it took me 2 years! to avoid going into falsetto. I could suggest a few things: make sure you prepare yourself before your singing session, and when you're singing, watch your larynx position, remember to tilt your vocal folds and use mixed voice; this will make it easier to go through your passaggio, and then pay attention to your support. Still, be aware it's unlikely for anyone to achieve it immediately; it often takes some time, normally years; in the meantime, this is a great opportunity to develop other parts of your voice, like developing vocal agility, learning new repertoire, styles of singing and so much more! I hope you find my answer helpful! :)

Hi there, My highest note ever was an A#5, and the lowest I could usually sing is a G2. I would say that I have never been in a position where I was requested to sing higher than a D5, and that was for Rigoletto's Possente amor mi chiama aria; and the lowest I think it was a C3, so I have never been taken to the extremes of my register yet. I must say though that the highest note that as a tenor you have to sing on a regular basis is an A#4, only a few pieces will require you to sing higher :)

I also want to be more comfortable in my Eb4-F#4, so what do you recommend? I’m taking lessons but my teacher really doesn’t do anything to increase my range.

Hi there, thank you for leaving a comment and sharing this with us! I would have a look at the breath support. I would not know for sure, as I would need to hear you, but very often when the voice breaks, it is due to lack of support, or it might be that you are pushing too hard; this would also break your voice, that is for the strain, now for extending your range, I could recommend an exercise, which is making whale sounds, with your mouth closed and very gently going up and down your register, using a keyboard or piano (very important). Slowly this should help you expand your register, if your instrument is able to, of course, but in most cases it is; remember it takes time, so take it easy and enjoy it! I hope you find my answer helpful.

Hello there; thanks for leaving a comment and sharing this with us! From what you're saying, it sounds like you could be a tenor, perhaps working more on the higher-end, so you get to a C5, which will be beneficial and then comes the technical and stylistic development; however, if you wish, you also have the option to train as a baritone, and then you'll have to learn how to sing as a baritone and work on your voice with that in mind, I think your register is great because it allows you to choose, you could even be both if you want, have you heard of the term "Baritenor"? I hope you find my answer helpful! :)

Awesome video ! My passaggio its on f#4 i can go to a b4 (belting), sometimes a c5 but with a really bad sound, i just can do these notes with the "o" and "a" vowels, i've been studying the pharyngeal voice and sometimes i can do it while singing some high songs. When im confident singing, my voice just goes through the passaggio without i think to do it, with any vowel and without using too much "force"/pressure, sometimes i just can't sing high and i don't know why. Im 16 years old, what type of voice do you think that i have? i can go down to a g#2/g2

Hi there, thanks for your comment! I would not be able to tell you for sure your voice type, however, for what you’re saying it sounds like you’re a tenor at the moment, and with more technical work you should be able to get to a high C (5) without too much effort and with a nice sounding voice, but it’s possible you end up as a baritone in the future, or as a baritenor, when you say sometimes you cannot hit the high notes, are you having a good routine before singing? Have you drunk enough water at least 4 hours before singing? And have you done some relaxing techniques? Also very important, are you singing every day? Some rest needs to be left in between singing sessions, I made a video about it and will make another one soon, hope it helps ☺️

From what you're saying, it sounds like you could be a tenor; I would not know for sure as I would need to hear you, but singing those high notes with your head voice is already a win. I would recommend looking at your support and mixed voice so that you can hit those notes while singing and not only when you're vocalising. Hi there, thanks for leaving a comment! I understand you meant singing high notes in piano or pianissimo? Meaning in low volume? If that is the case, then it is completely possible, but the support system needs to be different, stronger to be honest; even though the note is in low volume, it's still a high note, and when lowering the volume, if the support does not increase the sound will tend to drop. For the second question, if you are able to sing a note, it is within your range; you may just not know how to sing it using different voice dynamics, but this is something you learn by studying and practising. I hope you find my answer helpful! ☺

Hi there, thanks for leaving a comment! It took me about a couple of years, to be honest, and it's something you have to keep in mind very often; as you are introduced to new repertoire, the transitions are different, but to achieve the same colour of voice, I would say a couple of years, some people get it way faster and others even 10 years! So it depends on the person I guess ☺

Seeing all those videos about typical vocal ranges, I'm still trying to figure out why I'm able to sing from B1 to Eb5 in chest voice, Part of genetic, part of 14 years of vocal training I guess. Hi there, thank you for leaving a comment! I would need to hear you to be more accurate, so I won't be able to tell for sure your voice type, and it would also depend on many other factors that we'd have to consider; however, from what you say, it sounds like you might be a low baritone or perhaps even a bass, because of your very low notes that you can comfortably sing, which is great! The straining could be for different reasons too; it could be the breath support, you might be pushing, your vocal folds may need hydration, and so on. I hope you find my answer helpful!

My lowest voice in my chest is G2 and my highest belt is up to B4, C5-F5 is my head voice And take note I'm untrained, I only train once or twice a month so I'mma say that, that vocal range is not really my original vocal range because I believe that I may be able to expand it more if I just have more time to practice But going back to my question what's my voice type on that range, and if you're going to ask about my timbre or my vocal weight, all I'm gonna say is that I'm comfortable singing Justin Bieber's song, Ed Sheeran and other pop singers like Shawn Mendes and so on and so for, my voice is also a little bit thinner and lighter whenever I go high.

So high c has to be in chest voice to be tenor? I’m assuming when I hit it I was in probably mix close to head . This was a while back. My teacher who was an opera singer never told me what voice I had, I was always pushed to my limits and that’s it lol . I didn’t like my voice though it was fairly nasal and thin once I felt I was in a range where I was singing (for my taste). You obviously have a well rounded tone. Tbh I wish I could sing the higher notes without having to belt, I’m a rock musician and writer and don’t need to belt at all times but the way I was taught made me not know how to hit higher notes without being very loud, it’s hard to even practice with that loudness in most places, I used to practice in my car and hurt my ears I had no warning of tinnitus due to volume

Hi, thanks for leaving a comment! The high C does not need to be in chest voice (I personally think it's impossible, but who knows!), I use mixed voice, and depending on the piece, I would use more chest or head voice to express different emotions, etc. It's possible to do the high notes without belting; it takes practice and an understanding of how your instrument works. I know! I had a few issues for bein very loud, but I have very understanding neighbours right now hehe :)

Ah thanks man for Your response! I think I might need to find a teacher who can give me more self awareness. I feel I need to work on tone. Granted, the more I got comfortable, the more tone came naturally and so did nuance. But I feel I need to take it slower to really place the voice nicely rather than just be good at blasting through scales. Also learning how to hit the right pitch, without scales and songs to sing over was something I was lacking in and after a year with my previous teacher I felt I probably should have been more comfortable with those types of things. I would sit with a guitar and just belt but it was off. I had put it all that work but it didn’t transfer well into songwriting confidence or writing vocals for certain Keys and picking melody around chords (because I didn’t know what notes to hit around the chords ).. I was just loud lol also riffs, I was good at open vowel scales but lacking all the necessary skills of a more nuanced singer frankly.
