Useless tbh. most i/o errors you don't even have a drive letter assigned.. In my case, it has a lost partition issue. This is the second Samsung EVO 860 that has done this to me. This was used in an Xbox one X (external ussb enclosure) I have tried on another xbox as well as tried on multiple pcs... I cant use diskpart, as it does not see it. I miss the times of FDISK, lowlevel formatting, and even formatting via bios. I was always able to fix it in the bios.

The drive doesn't have a drive letter so it's impossible for the cmd prompt to work.

when i did clean boot it restarted my pc and then it said pin isnt available ive tried everything

Hi! I found a workaround for this. If you have a Linux computer. Put the device with the I/O Error onto the linux computer and see if it works. If so, theres a connection issue with Windows specifically. I just tried this about 5 minutes before this comment and it worked. Extract information from the drive then attempt to format it.

This problem is often referred to the incompatibility of these sata usb cables, the chinese cables have this fault that disconnects in the middle of the transfer, the recommended sata usb cables are with genesis sata bridge chip, these work well with intel chipset on x79 x99 boards between others

Run it through linux to see if it opens. Possible Windows connection issue.
