Does having your bow cocked for long periods of time damage the string?

We recommend discharging the crossbow at the end of each days hunt. The string and cables will stretch faster being continuously cocked for long periods of time.

Ok, I have watched this safety part on tree stand cocking- and it contradicts the instructions using the Acudraw in treestand, its ok if you are seated I get it but then after that it stated "not safe to cock manually or with ACUDRAW 50 ETC, SO which is it?? Please clarify.

Hello so I recently turned 18 about a year ago and have just now been thinking of getting a crossbow. I have 2 questions 1. The province I live in says this: Crossbows legal for all seasons except archery-only. Does this mean I can or cannot go out shooting with my uncle in a forest whenever? 2. What is the best crossbow within a 200-400 budget limit?

Answer to question 1: As long as your regulation states its a hunting season with guns, archery, etc, you can hunt with a crossbow. If you can only use archery equipment, no you cannot use a crossbow. Answer to question 2: For your budget we'd suggest the Blackhawk 360.
