Arguably one of the few or only models to have a QSI Titan at the time of release. Everyone has either switched to Lok or T2 by that time

I have the same thing! My Tenshodo D51 has the semi-streamlined casing, but with a medium cab roof. I paired this with some KATO HO Japanese rolling stock to pair with it plus the same caboose! I bought this, plus the C61, and C62 when I was in Japan! And yes, even though this uses QSI Sound, which is outdated IMO, it still has the best sounds ever. Also, this is heavy as hell because the D51 is freakin diecast and I like that it does not use traction tires but rather the weight. I had a shower thought to my head about this engine. When I looked at the mechanism (Chassis, Frame, driving wheels, etc), the build style, wiring, and general appearance are very similar to a Broadway Limited Imports engine. PS. I made this pulled Atlas Steam-Era Billboard Reefers, and it looked so cool pulling it. It like it matches for some reason.

@evanhizon8112 Nice! I still need to grab a C61 or 62. Yeah my thoughts went straight to BLI when I turned the engine over to add a little oil/grease, it was identical to some of their Mikados I've owned in the past.

@@SCL3618 If you want to go all out, the ultra-rare C62-2 Hokkaido Swallow Angel at the Kyoto Railroad Museum is a must. The C62 I own is the "Hatsukari" version along with its "Hatsukari" 8-Passenger Car set.

Out of curiosity, how ks the drawbar pull? Im thinking of picking one up. Is kt weighted well? Thanks!
@SCL36186 ай бұрын
I haven't tried a heavy pull test, the engine has plenty of weight on tap though. Given the free rolling ability of most JP market rolling stock, it can get away with towing more cars there than what we may have stateside.

Recived and runs perfectly. Its a model of D51 2. I actually saw the real No 2 when it was transfered from the then Closing JR west museum before that collection was redistributed to the expanded Umekoji steam locomotive museum and Tsuyama Roundhouse back when I lived in Japan.

where do you find locos like these? I’ve been dying to get a C62 for a long while
@SCL361824 күн бұрын
Usually I import them from Japan. Occasionally you can find a stateside auction on ebay, otherwise it's easier to find them overseas.
