Maybe Carrion and Fray contributed knowledge or whatever whatever. I started reading the WN rn for fun, and they said there was a plan before the Orc Disaster, which failed because the monsters were pacified in the Forest (because of Rimuru) or something, so they went with Orc Disaster then. Maybe Carrion had tried providing more help in there. I don't recall if this was in the LN too though.
