TENT Camping in RAIN Storm

Back out on another adventure in the rain in a new spot with my new ‪@OneTigris‬ Tent and Tarp. Some crazy 70kph winds forced me to bail to my car 1km away as I was concerned for my safety from falling branches snapping off the trees. Fortunately only minor damage to the campsite. Well I sent myself to watch your video. Nobody sent me although I do watch Tony and Bruce's channel since I'm a subscriber to his channel and your channel also. You have a nice set up there. I love to listen to the rain at night. It helps me to fall asleep. Make sure you don't get too wet walking down to the lake. This video was made a month ago. I'm behind times. Tony recommended your channel. Glad he did, I’ve watched several of your videos and this one has been especially entertaining with the midnight bail out. That did get pretty scary. I am never a fan of the winds when I camp. I can do tons of rain but never the wind. Great test on the tent and tarp but the tent style is not my cup of tea, but I can see very doable for it’s intended purpose. Keep on camping.

That's a neat tent with built in tarp, not too fond of new tents but that's one I'd buy. My current tent is 30 yrs old.

You might want to bring a large sponge with you for raining camping trips. I live in the High Sierras, California and use pine scented sponges for excess water. It also keeps "Short Fuse" at a distance from my camp. Bears don't like pine scent/Pine Sol.

In my opinion, bailing is not failing. You are the one there under those conditions. Only you can decide if the risk is to high. I'm glad you headed to the car I kept thinking that wind would bring a branch down on your head while you slept. All in all it was a good trip. You had good gear that held up in high winds and the view was fantastic. Love your company, hope to see many more videos. By the way, have you and Tony ever considered like a 2 niter together? Bring your own gear, tents and tarps but enjoy the company of another with the same interests? The conversation would be very enjoyable and something I would definitely watch.

Morena C-West familiar sounds of birdsong one never forgets when growing up with these gorgeous sounds. So it looks like a treeline of a ridge some where in NZ, also the sounds of the Ciccada's is so good to one's ears. Yes it is a really nice tent. Peacocks now that was never a familiar sound in my childhood - so the ponds look so natural with those beautiful Swans/ mum n dad with the kids, so nice? Back in the day Westcoast of the South Island was always know as the wettest place in NZ - raining all the time. Enjoy your dinner with your Happy Daze.
