I love your videos the reason I watch you is that you seem to be a nice man, like you said you are sharing you're life with us, I kind of envy you doing these things you see I'm disabled now therefore I'm unable to do the things you do so the nearest I can get is to camp out in my garden, this brings back all those times when I could do such things I'm 68yrs old my brain says I'm still 16yrs old however there seems to be a conflict with my body because it doesn't want to do what my brain wants to do, So Dan you're videos give me a form of escape because I feel that I'm with you so a great big thank you for sharing you're adventures with us all.

That reservoir reminds me of a school day out on the north York moors in March and it was freezing, our school teacher stripped off dived in and swam all the way round the reservoir, the moment he dived in he earned all our respect and we gave him no more chew from then on.

You were right to heat meal up from cold water you can save even more gas mate, put the meal pouch in the cold water, bring to the boil, switch gas off but leave the meal in water for 5 mins, then bring back to the boil, leave 5 more mins. You'll have hot meal and saved a load of gas only a few mins worth rathar than 10 and then use the water for your brew. Just make sure the pouch is clean, I always give them a quick wash in cold water or a soak to get rid of labels before I leave and keep them in a plastic bag like you have done there. Most camp meals and modern MRes have either no labels or easy peel ones for that purpose. ATB mate, hope to see more of these hike n camps.

Great video Dan. Brilliant views and a very appealing walk. Never mind what anyone says about how you boil your water etc..... Give yourself some slack. You were tired, needing food and drink. It is easy to look back after - or sit here watching and judging. It doesn't really matter how you do it. At least you are out, walking, camping and bringing us some great videos. Keep being you. That's how we like you and why we watch you. Keep smiling - good looking chap ;-) You said that's what all your future family will be saying when they watch your KZbins LOL!! Another good video dan. I've had the same tent for about 2 years and had it up the top of mhic martiun in glencoe last night. What was supposed to be a rather calm night turned out to be anything but, as all hell broke loose on the weather front. Winds were ferocious with heavy rain and although the tent was almost blown flat at one point, it performed brilliantly. Kept me safe and dry all night, not a true four season tent but a tough bugger all the same. All the best.
