Nice job. A tip for future projects you could always multiply 3-4-5. eg 6-8-10, 9-12-15, Will be more accurate over long distances. On a square building a simple way to check for square is measuring corner to corner in an X pattern and getting the same measurement. Keep it up !!!

Very good job, so far. I don't know a whole lot about the 3-4-5 rule when checking for right angles, but I do know about the ketchup-mustard-relish rule when grilling hot dogs. I might not be the best one to call when you're building the deck, but once it's up and you're having a cook-out, I'm the gal to call! Keep up the good work.

Looks like a great plan - what made you decide on a floating deck vs an anchored deck? Good use on a Pythagorean Triple for your right angles!

So nice weather is cooperating with your plans. Is there a time period between ordering the tent and delivery, days or weeks?

Weeks for delivery. And I haven't ordered it yet. Debating on type of wood to lay down, it will come to cost. I really hope to have the deck done by end of May beginning of June. We will see if the weather still corporates. (crossing fingers)

Back in 05 I used treated as the cheapest way to go. Shrinkage was amazing just a week later between 2x6 planks. More recently neighbor used synthetic with nicer results but higher cost. Another neighbor went with treated last year with new treated and the planks aren't 2x6 anymore. His results weren't any better than mine. I used redwood for the frame with no complaints there. Do you know how high off the ground you want it?

I am debating on Douglas Fir/Redwood/Treated.. synthetic will not be an option. I will also stain it. I want as close to the ground as possible, but we are at a slant... think one end will be between 2-3' off the ground.
