Good review on the physical attributes of both tents. Possibly a night in the rain for each would reveal a clear winner. I agree there is nothing like having enough room for your ‘gear’.

Thanks Richard. Nice review and with “real” (sort of) measurements/comparisons. A sensible review! Agree with you on “fair weather camping”. I’ve camped through summer Lake District thunderstorms and severe wind storms, but now in my 75th year I’ll prefer to stick with better weather stuff. But these are too pricy for me... I’ll go with my two old Vango Force Tens for motorcycle camping. Les

Just subscribed to your channel, loving your work , great review on the Telemark 2 & Scarp 1.......I have a Scarp 1 myself and absolutely love it, I personally have the cross poles as I summit camp but your absolutely right in suggesting they're not necessary for a basic camp. I use the Scarp 1 for myself, my dog and all my gear, everything fits comfortably inside it. It might have been worth mentioning that the Scarp 1 requires seam sealing, something you need to do yourself, a simple and basic process. You will grow to love the Scarp 1 and no other tent will compare! Well done on a comprehensive, informative and humorous review, Looking forward to your next video.

got mine today via UPS its the 2022 updated version bigger internal net pockets more guy line tie outs on the main hoop sleeve lighter fabric anyway busy work wise today but going to pitch it on my front lawn to see how it is tomorrow morning. Just ordered the mesh interior as I have the solid version with more eastern stakes plus 60 ft of guy line and the same guy line locks as the scarp 1 so its all the same. Henry put a pack together for me today and it be on its way. it would of been more economical to order everything when i order my scarp1 but the eastern stakes were out of stock and still are so I sent Henry a message today and he responded straight away I placed the order for the mesh interior then added a note in the notes column on the order form and hey presto he added a pack of 6 stakes from another tent added in the other items completed order and its on its way what a service. Really helpful company

Great video. I have bought the Telemark 2.2 LW recently but not put it up yet. I bought it for ultra lightweight for multi day hikes and liked the fact the 2.2 has 2 doors for extra ventilation. I also have a Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 which is not much heavier than the Tarp tent you tested. If you are looking for a great spacious tent for summer use I don’t think you can beat the Big Agnes. Check it out mate. All the best. Mark Horsebox 👍

Thank you for your review. I have been looking at the scarp 1 as I want a light 4 season tent as I live in North Wales and on the nicest summer's day can still get 50mph winds. Also hoping that my wife can fit in it on the rare times she can come with me, but worry it will be too much of a squeeze with my wide neo air.

@petergilbert7210 ай бұрын
I was a bit surprised at you describing the Scarp as bombproof! Every tent is vulnerable in the ‘wrong’ conditions ie in conditions that exceed the tent’s or the user’s capability. In the case of Hilleberg they use triple coated silnylon weighing 55g a metre on their strongest Black Label tents. Tarptent silnylon weighs only 35g a metre. Even Hilleberg’s lightest three season tents use triple coated silnylon at 40g a metre.

I've used the Akto on and off for twenty five years having worn out the mark 1 and replaced it with the newer lighter Akto fifteen years ago. Bought the Scarp 1 six years ago for use on the Pacific crest trail, never needed the cross poles. The Nordisk is a good tent but I'd deffo chose The Scarp it's so much easier to live with doesn't seem to suffer with the condensation problems you get with the Akto or Nordisk so a no brainer for me. If you know anyone in the US they can send it to you as a gift and you don't need to pay import duties on it

I've got both tents and when I bought the Telemark it had an inner that didn't fit well. I should have returned it but instead I tried to alter the inner to fit but was not very successful. I used the tent on several occasions and each time the foot end under the long sloping side resulted in a wet sleeping bag from condensation as the tent just wasn't higher enough at that end. I have to say it is one of the worst tents that I have ever owned. On the other hand my Scarp 1 has always been brilliant and apart from its weight is the best tent I have ever had. I like a tent's inner door to fully open so I had one side of the Scarp's inner door modified to fully open, and have never regretted it. I have used the cross poles on four occasions and they keep the tent standing in near hurricane winds.
