Chiappini also have an awesome CF. They are neighbours to Ornellaia.

Hi John! I am not familiar with this producer either, but I do have a growing list of 100% Cabernet Francs to try from Bolgheri, so I will add this to the list. Thank you again for the tip! 😁

Hi John! Thank you for your comment. I have not tried this wine. I do know there are some 100% Cabernet Francs emerging from Bordeaux, which is super exciting. I will put this on my list of ones to track down. Thank you for the tip! 🙏😃

Italy looks to be a really exciting place for the future of Cab Franc!

I think so too! Bolgheri and Tuscany as a whole seem to be really getting behind the grape. Just wished some of the wines were a bit more accessibly priced so I could try more examples. Hopefully I'll get to the region sometime soon. 🤩

Amazing color too. The Maria sounds like one I’d like to try. Lovely description and great post with a wonderful overview of the producer and area. We just had a Cabernet Franc night at our Wednesday tasting, I brought a cab franc from Planeta, Sicily, the 2016 Didacus. It was another opulent, a lot going on, I had two paragraphs of tasting notes, very well constructed wine. Thank you.

Hi Carl! Thank you for your thoughtful comment, and kind words. Bolgheri is definitely an exciting region for the variety. I had hear that Planeta made a Cabernet Franc in Sicily, which is kinda bonkers!🤯 I have not had a chance to try it yet, but I am certainly curious. Knowing the producer and price point , I would think the wine was very well made with a lot going on. Glad you had a great experience with that bottle! Thank you for sharing your insights, and for your continued support! 🙏❤
