Really enjoying my surface pro 9 for drawing, animating and photo editing but Windows’s lack of native ASIO support or bluetooth audio delay compensation makes it a really bad platform for anything to do with audio or content consumption like streaming. It’s just several decades behind every competing OS for those.

How sad that there is no Apple tablet with full OS. Artist workflows are still quite okay, but if someone wanted to do for example programming...

They don't make it because that's what the the MacBook laptop is for it's the same size as the tablet

As an illustrator and animator - Apple tablet doesn’t have enough software available, I have to use it connecting to Mac book

@@felicityfelidaeMMD if you think about it, tablets are kind of stupid. They're the same size and weight, usually as a laptop and they're almost just as expensive. So what's the point of the tablet? You can just use the laptop

Choose based on the apps you want to use. Both platforms have many capable drawing apps. iPads will have more graphic design apps that can handle vector, typography and layout. That's the big difference for creating visual content. But for drawing, both are on par in my opinion. Drawing experience will be slightly different but I don't think one is better than the other for drawing. If you don't have specific apps you want to use, you can choose based on other features. E.g. screen aspect ratio, microSD card, SamsungDex, S Pen included.

I like a lot of things about ios, but that damn file explorer, even downloading some files and having to export them is a pain in the ass. Thats why i still using my galaxy tab 9 as second device.

CSP doesn’t really lag unless you are using huge textured brushes. Nowadays most tablets can run CSP smoothly

Get the iPad 9th Gen or 10th Gen or the iPad air 4th gen. I recommend the later. But it doesn't matter the model as long as you get the more storage. 64gb is not enough for digital art is has to be at least 128gb. Remember to get the apple pencil for the iPad 9 and 10gen it's the apple pencil gen 1 for iPad air it's gen 2

Maybe the Samsung Tab S6 Lite (2022) which is currently USD 200 and that includes the pen. 10.4-inch display is big enough. You can then spend USD 25 for a 256GB microSD to add to the internal 64GB storage. Total ~USD 225. Someone mentioned iPad 9. That's USD 249 with another USD 99 for Apple Pencil. Total ~USD350 Here's the thing. Kids are not going to care which brand/tablet they get. And someone will always say Samsung will not get years of OS or security updates. And I say not having those updates does not mean your apps will stop running, or you can no longer install apps.
