Super helpful video, Teppo. Definitely will come in clutch for my next couple of shoots. Two things I do sometimes: 1) I ask the bride to whisper the name of her favorite vegetable in the groom’s ear. Super weird. Makes them both laugh while she’s leaning in close to his face. 2) I ask the bride to write her name with her nose on the groom’s cheek. This typically works better with couples that have been together for a long time. It’s so out of the ordinary that they spark a little magic with each other.

Your video was great,,,,,, I'm a 41 year veteran wedding photographer (started around 1978) I was looking around for some new wedding poses but low and behold! you are showing that the old classics are still very acceptable by todays standards. I particuarly love to do a walking away pose for the end of my albums, sometimes I have both bride and groom looking back and waving a little bye-bye... Thanks again for waking up old juices....

This is unbelievably helpful. I normally photograph families but today I'm photographing a couple in their wedding outfits 5 years after their wedding. This gave me a tonne of shots and has given me a bunch of stuff i can use for parents in my family shoots as well. Thanks so much!

...nobody teaches this and it's soooo frustrating to me. I know my way around a camera pretty well, but some of these more technical types of tricks and effects are things I still have yet to conquer and really figure out. THANK YOU soooo much for doing this for us!! I would sure give the world for you to also do a couple of videos teaching us how to photograph sparkler exits, light trails with wedding reception dance photos, how to photograph those cigar smoke photos of the guys on wedding day, and how to get that hair spray shot when the bride is getting ready. I'd also love to learn how to do some of those trick photos that so many of you do on wedding days - the reflection, shooting through things, bokeh lights, ring shots with an extra fun flair, etc. A super fun photographer that does a lot of this stuff is Jason Martin with Concept Photography. This guy has some super cool photography tricks and effects and I still have yet to figure out how he does a lot of them.
