It’s only right that I discovered this video on the 6th anniversary of discovering Dan+Shay! I first heard them 6yrs ago in Bloomsberg, PA at the Bloomsberg Fair, when the only song they had on iTunes was 19 You + Me! It was their first big show, they opened for Hunter Hayes, about two years later my friend and I got Meet&Greet with them at a show in Philly and we got to tell them that we were at that show and made a “where it all began” joke, referring to their first album including the song 19 You + Me....and that night i tweeted about meeting them and they followed me and I cried 🤣seriously they’re the most down to earth people ever! They truly adore and appreciate their fans! If you say more than “hello I’m ____” they’ll have a conversation with you, Shay is the most animated person I’ve ever met hahaha but I would’ve died if they came out on stage in NYC with The JoBros!

@@wes4045 yeah, country is definitely not my favorite genre. Like at all. But i appreciate it for what it is/is supposed to be. And over the years, it seems like all it takes to be a country artist is a country accent, to be from the south, call your music country, and honestly be white. Unless its 100% undeniable that its a country song. But music is forever changing to keep up with the times. Country has been changing every decade just like rap and hip hop. (I hate how certain artists are considered rappers when they arent even understandable and sing for more than half of the songs) but it is what it is. Dan and shay have a country sound but they make pop songs. And im not saying you have to look a certain way to make a certain genre of music but god, their jeans were tighter than the jonas brothers!

Dan+Shay is just pop, but at least Shay has good vocal ability while Thomas Rhett is just generic standard mediocre pop singer pretends to be country. His voice is so-so, has no power in it, not to mention his stage presence is awful. Brett Young and Kane Brown is pretty good. Luke Combs is the definition of new REAL country singer and finally Chris Stapleton is the king of the country soul.
