Tera Fraywind Canyon Full Game - Sorcerer PvP - Icha - 2/24/2024

I picked this game because I thought it showcases fundamentals of fraywind (in my perspective) fairly well. At the start of major fights when I know my opponents have giga I try to not get caught in their initial bursts and regresses so I can follow up adequately, knowing it is very important for me to survive to contribute to the team fight. This is made pretty clear from my positioning and also using line of sight to keep myself safe. After grouped fights end, I like to roam and look for the place that allows me to impact the map most - since running around with my team I feel doesn't accomplish anything unless my opponents throw bodies at us if we are the stronger team. 1:50 - Catching stragglers keeps my opponents team from regrouping. Here I notice I was fighting 2 lancers, and although it seems fairly pointless - by keeping them out of the main fight it makes it hard for my team to lose any grouped fight that happens since they're missing 2 tanks. You'll notice the whole point is to waste their time for a bit, not really actually fully commit. 2:40 - I scouted north for about 5 people earlier, and I know the rest of their team is going to go to mid - while my entire team is already south. At this point the natural point my opponents can be is south after for the objective, so I group with my team for the upcoming fight. Positioning myself near the beach area to intercept them before they can engage my team buys valuable time for our positioning. 3:05 - Checking red buff spawn, saw my team got it so rushed back to the beach area to take control of the positioning. 3:15 - Getting my opponents team in combat so they have a harder time taking position in the upcoming fight. My positioning here behind the rocks is very important to line of sight part of the enemy team while being so deep. I am always very conscious of gigas, people looking at me, and where my safe spot is if people focus me in this position (using the rocks and the ledges) 4:50 - This was a little tragic since I didn't actually want to die here, but this was still a fairly strategic death. I knew they had 6 people south, and for them to waste this much time focusing me basically guaranteed us numbers advantage for the naga fight and all road fights on the other side of the map. It was worth for me to waste this much time here. 2 healers and 2 lancers were chasing me, which is a huge disadvantage to the enemy team in a grouped fight. If you pay attention to the kill feed my team got a few kills in exchange for one, and theyre far too late to group north now after 40s time waste. 6:10 - Basically the fruits of what happened at 4:50 realized, they lose the objective and theyre still split everywhere - also some straggling kills with the enemy team wondering why they arent grouped. 7:10 - Same as 2:40, Scouting and looking at the map I can see my team will cap north - they are going to mid then south, so I can pre group with my team before the fight actually starts in an advantageous position. 8:10 - Fights around this area are all unlosable since they keep getting picked on their tanks and healers. 8:55 - From their body language I could tell they were afraid to engage, but my team was also afraid from their movement. I make the first move to get them in combat and confused where to go, while looking back to see I will be backed up. This stalls them long enough for us to collapse on them and win the game on a decisive road fight victory. 9:25 - Reward for the decision at 8:55 People usually treat mass pvp battlegrounds as a zerg fest, but there is a lot you can gain from good decision making even as an individual player. I hope these comments help you see the game in a new perspective if you haven't before.
