this music is so sporadic and melodic at the same time not keeping up with the same tempo every ten seconds whilst having a crazy jittery feel to it but then moving to soft chords and it not sound bad at all. It has to be one of most unique and original things out there.

This came out my senior year of high school. It was a time of excitement, a time of fear, intimidation and a feeling of the unknown all rolling around in the head of a soon-to-be adult about to be released into the world. That nervous excitement encapsulates this exact spastic but oh so controlled beautiful composition and is the reason it has stuck with me to this day. I am just as on edge yet strangely at home with this piece now at 29 as I was back when I was 17. It is because of this video that I removed most of the drums from my kit and I have never looked back. Bravo gents, bravo.

The Perchps says "Oh my god I don't think it sounds good therefore it must suck because I am some sort of musical God that makes the final call on whether a particular peice of music sucks or not." To my ears, this is a beatiful, complex, abstract piece of art, I don't expect people to love these guys because their music definately isn't for everybody. But at least appreciate them for what they are doing, even if it differs from your current perception of art or music.

okay people its time to move on. music is evolving. and btw art is anything that means something to someone. what may not be art to you may be art to someone else. to me this song tells a story and brings back the imagination i had as a child. and the technicallity of this music is so much more demanding of the player than most classical pieces. alot of people can play beethoven but how many people do you see playing tera melos? not many.
@nlo1315 жыл бұрын
@dunce145 Their style is not for everyone. but they definitely do not suck; they are extremely talented. there are very few bands that could write songs with the complexity of song structure that they do and still manage to keep it together when they play live

note: I admit unfamiliarity w/ their music; this being the only piece I've heard.. unless this is the same 40 Rods my brother, God rest him, recommended I give a listen to. My comment is specific only to this piece! To my thinking, the drums drown out the guitar/bass making the offering cacaphonous. Though there are a few delectable moments of music interspersed throughout this, they are not enough to listen to this twice. I'll go hear their other stuff; they may redeem themselves yet.

Does anyone know what Vince's setup is/was? I really love his drumming a lot and he always had a really great sounding kit and cymbals when I saw them live. i don't think anyone can compare the fall of troy with tera melos. they're both absolutely astounding bands and i believe they've both produced some of the greatest music of the last 10 years. tera melos rely on far more complex song structures (they're probably among the most demanding bands i've heard recently in terms of musicianship). the fall of troy are basically the pinnacle of post-hardcore IMO. different bands for different people.
