The architectural secrets of the Vatican

Let's explore together The Vatican, which is the smallest country in the world but at the same time houses some of the most iconic buildings in existence and some of the most famous works of art.
And I'm going to tell you the story of St. Peter's Basilica, which is the epicenter of The Vatican and has been designed and built over centuries by more than a dozen different architects and artists.
If you want to see incredible details of The Basilica from home, The Vatican and Microsoft have collaborated and created a 3D model that you can navigate (as if it were street view!)
Microsoft worked with Iconem to take +400,000 photos of The Basilica and they have combined classic 3D modeling tools with artificial intelligence to create a 3D model using photogrammetry. In addition, the artificial intelligence analyzed the photos to identify and catalog cracks and defects to facilitate the constant restoration processes that The Basilica has.
