Amir was offered the five minutes that every fighter is offered when hit with a low blow and he turned it down and said he couldn’t continue and when you wave the white flag in boxing it is a TKO. It probably would’ve went to the scorecards if he took that 5 and couldn’t continue, but Khan was clearly looking for a way out cause he knew he was going to sleep sooner or later.

I have such huge respect for the Budster - to say he is good is a massive understatement - but - I keep worrying about an apparent deficiency that his team and enthusiasts must know about. He's got 'blood in the water shark frenzy instinct' and it has served him very, very well up until now. Until....he comes across a confident counter puncher who whilst dazed from the Bud onslaught sees Crawf' swinging madly for the immediate KO but instead by way of reply finds himself knocked out cold instead. Too much risk. Protect yourself at all times. It isn't his strong point.

@@hyp77 it is relevant! This is boxing unintentional LB's happen. In that instance the ref usually gives a warning, if it continues he then deducts points. If it's the first instance and the guy gets hurt he is allowed 5 minutes to recover. Most fighters are able to continue. If the LB was intentional after warnings or the ref sees intent in the first instance the fighter would be disqualified however seeing that it was unintentional and Crawford was basically already winning the fight Khan opted say "no mas" instead of use his alloted 5 minutes. That's why the fight was called a stoppage. Anything else you need to be educated about sir???

@@mrgrandi LB's happens????ALL LB are intentional.How do you accidentally strike about half a meter under where you aimed?The referee even point out before the match what is acceptable and what is not allowed.You need to understand, these fighters are not holy son of priest's, certain boxers are more prone to LB opponents.And LB accidents that are accidental, do not go so low that the balls are in danger.Why is LB more common with some fighters?Because they have questionable moral values OR they have grown up on the streets, where LB is ok to get away when you are in trouble.However, what happens on the streets SHOULD NOT happen in a rule based system.What the stupid rules say, does not matter to me, I know from life that if I aim at the belly, I have never hit the balls instead.How anybody then can hit the balls, and say accident, is to me just stupid.

I like watching Crawford box. That said, I don't see the logic of how the decision went down in this fight. If a boxer lands a blow this directly to the genitals, I don't understand how his opponent is supposed to just shrug it off after a few minutes and continue. When I've received strikes to the junk that are not even this hard, I need plenty more than 5 minutes to recover.
