I am Cuban and a follower of Gamboa since he won the Athens Olympics in 2004 and I believe that one of the bad decisions that led him to failure was to stop working with boxing master Ismael Salas, with whom he achieved his great triumphs, to put his manager's father who was a failure in this sport in cuba as an amateur boxer

Crawford continued to fight and it was not considered a knockdown, when I said "getting off the floor" I meant his ass (both butt cheeks) and his hands on the floor looking around like he doesn't know where he is like Rolly Romero and staggering trying to keep his balance standing up ok maybe that's a better way to say it, Crawford actually got hit in the face in round 7 and took the punch and hit Kavaliuskas and he went down to the "Floor" and had to get a count from the ref that's what I mean by the "Floor"

And to date, this is the closest any one has ever gotten to putting him on the deck. And in my opinion will be the closest any ever gets to putting him on the deck. He even said after the fight that he let his cockiness get the better of him and Gamboa took advantage. Ever since then, he's never underestimated or disrespected a fighter, stuck to his gameplan, and won every fight without being in trouble like he was after that uppercut.

I'm sure he did, he even seemed to have a similar gameplan in the fight. But you gotta remember this is Crawford in 2014, 9 years ago. He's built layer upon layer upon layer of refinement and skill on top of the foundation you see in this video. He was always great, but he had holes in his game, now... he doesn't. On top of that, he's gotten even better at recognizing weak spots in his opponents and capitalizing on them, as was on full display in the Spence fight. And for all his good work, Gamboa still got dominated in their fight, too. There were a few dangerous moments for Crawford, but the fight as a whole _wasn't_ close.

Gamboa was an absolute beast during that time. Gambo was elite ko artist with a lot of speed. People try to downplay Gamboa to attack crawford resume. Truth is crawford still had to make that weight and weathered a total onslaught from the cyclone to get the finish.

And on top of that, this is the closest anyone has, or ever will, come to dropping Crawford. Crawford said the biggest thing he learned in this fight is that he let his cockiness take over and that's when Gamboa gave him that uppercut that almost floored him. He's never underestimated or disrespected an opponent since and it shows. After last night, he is easily one of the best fighters of all time. In some people's minds, like mine, he always was... but last night removed any doubt, even from Spence supporters.

This is the fight I was introduced to Terrance Crawford and I remember thinking the announcers were trying to sell him as the next great American P4P fighter. I remember thinking the announcers were a bit bias, but ultimately Crawford pulled it off in the end.

Same here. What you don't see in this fight, since it's just highlights, is how good Gamboa was through the first 4 and a half rounds. Similar to Khan v Canelo, Khan was lighting him up. But Crawford and Canelo figured out the timing as they always do. Both fighters habitually start slow.
