That is a short but profound question. Jung was a very competent astrologer. He was therefore aware of energetic cycles, but early in his career, he did not believe that the stimuli from planets were causal, i.e., acausal synchronicity. Later, however, he felt we were influenced and therefore the energies were causal.

I am student of a Taoist Monk. I have sampled it all including the iChing. I define myself as an athiest and i am highly suspicious of supernatural descriptions of anything including death. Everything is natural and the iChing is a guidebook for something purely natural. I find it extremely specific every time i use it. I use ceremony to focus myself very clearly when i use it. I would not drive drunk and i would not use the iChing without a respectful and focused approach

It is quite easy to use the I Ching or any other oracle to accurately predict the future. Every evening, I conduct a divination to see what is to await me the next day. I have been doing this for decades, and the I Ching has not been incorrect yet. I also do weekly forecasts and monthly forecasts, with the same flawless results.

We can't know the future, unless we have a dream that reveals it. Burroughs said we don't remember the event itself in the dream, but the emotional impact of it, suggesting strong emotion registers in the body outside linear time. This comports with the Gurdjieff Ouspensky concept of recurrence. We recur, and certain events effect the emotional body so strongly they show up in dreams before they occur in the linear unfolding of a recurrence.
