Anyone wondering about the sleeve length, the creator said it’s 30cm by 30cm, or 50cm by 30cm if you want longer sleeves. However, lots of commenters had issues with the neckline… the creator said she was going to make a video explaining it, but apparently no video has been created since. Just FYI before you start this project!

You might want to mention to buy a light fabric, like challis, voile, silky prints, and similar fabrics; medium to heavy fabrics won't drape right, and you can't use a heavier fabric like brocades unless you get some structure into the garment with facings and a lining or underlayment .
@thepolkadotter5 жыл бұрын
You’re totally right! I’ll definitely add that to the description. Thank you so much 😘❤️

Hello! I love the tutorial, it was very helpful and easy to understand. I do have a question about the step after you cut the sleeves. To sew the edges together, do you open up the fabric and sew both edges under the sleeves separately? Or do you sew it all together while it's still folded? It seems to me we would have to open and then sew two times. In the video and tutorial though it looked like you only did it once?
@thepolkadotter5 жыл бұрын
Hello there! Yes, you have to unfold the fabric and sew the sleeves together, sewing only two layers of fabric and then do it whith the other sleeve. I hope I could help you :)

You may want to mention that this works best with an all over print, and a drapey, lightweight fabric. A one way print will not work with this method, unless you are cool with the print running different ways in the front and back.

Thanks for this super-simple project! I made a practice version of it out of a cotton bedsheet, which isn't as light as what you used. Two problems that I want to fix: puckers in the armpits because of the 90 degree angle (I'll try cutting a curve next time) and the neck. I can't decide whether to also cut a curve at the neck as well and try to hem that or to use a bias tape finish. What do you recommend? I'm sure I could make it work well with the kind of super light, flowy material you used, but I really want to make some that have more heft. Because my bedsheet version had a lot of extra, NOT flowy fabric in the front, I wound up folding it back, tacking the corners at the sideseams and top stitching that toward bottom of the garment, which created a lapel-looking front that I top stitched from the neck down to a certain point and then left open for pockets. It's comfortable and stylish and the pockets are handy. I just need to fix the neck and armpits next time!
@thepolkadotter5 жыл бұрын
Hello there! First of all, I would love to see your final result! Then, yes the armpits get a little bit strange because of the 90 degree level cut, if you make it a little curvy it will work much much better. About the neck, I never tryied making it round but I'll definitly give it a shot next time, cause the result will probably be much better too! Thank you so much for watching and spend the time writing your comment! 😘❤️
