Omg gorgeous copies. Have you considered having the older manners book conserved by a professional?

Oh wow... Do you collect these? I have an old copy of Emily Post's Etiquette that belonged to my grandmother. If you're interested, I can send you a picture and see if it's something you may want? (it's from around the 1940s or so)

I never much understood etiquette. It always seemed to me like it's manners, but with kindness and empathy boiled out. I've seen a lot of people who were great at etiquette wield it as a cudgel, and use it as a tool to be really mean to people for not doing the "correct" thing. After I saw that, I thought "Aren't manners supposed to be about being nice?" and ever since then I've kind of thought of etiquette as "Manners, but for bad people."
