@@dieseldoctor25 damn right you know . For people who have never run one of these Green machines they don't know the whole story behind them. Not just about the noisy Detroit it's a matter of the that damn thing was built like freaking like Hercules everything that Euclid attacks built was built like Hercules

I had a cable lift C-6 back in the 70's. I cleared a lot of acres of woods and fence rows with a homemade stump splitting blade. Also dug a lot of ponds. Awesome machine.

Hi nice to see these two machines working , there’s not so many of them left now. I hope you will keep them in running condition. Euclid made rugged equipment for sure . I have two 8240 dozers , a 1966 AA model that I am upgrading the track gear , BIG job and a 1970 DA but she has been abused but still runs okay , needs new track rollers . They are very hard to find . The AA is my favourite hope to finish her off soon .

Great video! Looks like a great running old Terex bulldozer, with lots of power to push down good sized trees! I'd like to see more videos of the Terex bulldozer pushing trees & clearing brush!

How can a person tell if a 6-71 is a 2 or 4 valve? My intake flapper was stuck open so I removed the blower cover to see what was going on. Somehow moisture got inside and rusted-welded the shaft w/ flaps. With heat the shaft was eventually freed up. After replacing the cover, we attached a small cable to the shaft lever and ran it back into the cab in case of a runaway.

The Terex machinery was as much dinosaur as they were monster. It's a treat to see one (or two) running again and pushing bush down. In the 70's i remember them arriving for field trials where Euclid Poclain and Caterpillar were moving mountains. Especially the twin engined scrapers were similar sounding rowdy blasted machines. You're hard pressed to hear the Caterpillars. There were huge wheel loaders and trucks also . The green machines sure stood out from the crowd tho

Awesome mike great old machine what do you mean as running away fuel is wide open??
@dieseldoctor25
@dieseldoctor25 Жыл бұрын
Detroit diesel was a 2-stroke engine. Like a chainsaw, fuel injectors were cam operated & would stick locking the rack that all injectors are attached to making the engine run wide-open .

The runaway engine prevention methods & devices you use are good, but isn't the main thing to check for are freely operating fuel injector racks?
@dieseldoctor25
@dieseldoctor25 Жыл бұрын
yes that correct!

but the rack might be free & when the engine turns over plungers go down & rack sticks. BE CAREFUL.
