Very cool deck! When I saw Tergrid for the first time I really wanted to build a deck around her, but decided against it so that I would still have a playgroup to play with lmao. I decided to build a deck with Liliana, Heretical Healer as the commander instead, which is still a fairly similar theme but far more Lily tribal, far less powerful (I think), and far more expensive (I know lol).

Same. At least in my playgroup/meta my friends know not to let her stick around so removal/counterspells are always saved for her. I still haven’t decided if I want to put her in the 99 of my Meren deck. It doesn’t have nearly as much Edict effects as it used to.

she's pretty decent in Nekusar, the Mindrazer. Wheel everybody while she's out and you get so many permanents

My favorite way to play edh is to set a budget for your group (for instance, $400) and then try to build the most competive version of the deck you can at that budget. My group and I have done $500 and $1k so far but $400 would be fun too. I find that mono colored or green/x decks are the way to go. I think you could build a pretty damn good version of this deck at that $500 level. Pretty easy to just chop the bad cards out and get your good rituals in (culling the weak, bubbling muck, and the one black “sac a land add a black) get chrome mox in and maybe some see if you can squeeze in a mana vault. Then you’re pretty dang close to a semi competitive/fringe cEdh list). Nice deck. Not bad for $400 but you really ought to get those extra rituals in and get that phyrexian arena out of there.. it is a bad card if you are trying to play to win. It seems good until you really think it over but it’s not just overrated but it’s actively bad and I don’t think it’s super cheap $$ either? Maybe use mindblade render instead.. that’s a way way better card. You can play blood pet too.. that’s a little extra ramp. You need to get that commander online ASAP for your deck to do anything and Tergred just wrecks shop once she’s online.. def lose the 6 mana planes walkers and all just try to go fast and the deck could be very good. Not bad 🖖

Thank you for the recommendations and the kind words! I do like culling the weak and I wish I had a mana crypt or mana vault. I play cards in my decks that I open in packs mostly or just try not to buy overly expensive singles, less than 30 for the most part. We play it at 40 € budget and it works pretty good. Made Tergrid deck and sad part is I won 0 times with it...in last 6 games all 3 players focus me only and then start attacking others. I dropped Charcoal Diamond turn 2 and one player was considering to counter it and other said to not waste counter and then he instant speed removed it once it hit table....just bcs that is Tergrid

You can make tier 1 cedh for $400. Budget is a terrible way to rate the power of a deck.

From the top of my head what I'd play as ramp (aka mana rocks) in his deck: 1x Sol Ring 1x Arcane Signet 1x Fellwar Stone (either it's a mindstone or someone else is playing black - maybe meta dependant) 1x Mind Stone 1x Charcoal Diamond 1x Thought Vessel 1x Leaden Myr 1x Fractured Powerstone 1x Jet Medallion 1x Mana Kin 1x Millikin 1x Mox Tantalite 1x Star Compass 1x Ornithopter of Paradise 1x Plague Myr 1x Overflowing Chalice This will lead to each starting hand having 1-2 Ramp cards, playing around 33-36 lands 2 lands do happen but are much more keepable despite this deck's demanding mana curve. Also: Turn 3-4 Commander is basically guaranteed. Also: Culling the Weak - you are missing a ritual. Same for Bubbling Muck. For discard I am sorely missing: Waste Not Bone Miser (those two are wonderful payoff for when your commander get's deleted) and Mind Slicer, what an amazing card. (4 mana 2/2 that if it dies everyone discards their hand.) Sadistic Hypnotist: Turning your useless creatures into good ones at a rate of 1:2 ... sounds pretty good. Hagra Mauling? That's a worse Murder. I suggest: Doom Blade, Terror, Feed the Swarm, Victim of Night, Dismember, Tragic Slip, Fatal Push. I'd play contamination in mono B but what do I know. Smokestack anyone? Smokestack! Your deck needs a Smokestack my friend. Also: Look into Cycling lands. Barren Moor and alike. Chances are you don't want to be flooding anyways. Looks like a solid deck with identity issues. Do you want to go blisteringly fast? Then cut that Solemn and Elk as well as commanders sphere for actually good cards. They don't provide any (if at all) benefits to your deck. You play demonic tutor which is rather up there and then that 5 mana tutor.... ?

You can add Blood Pet if you want. Early ramp that you can reanimate anytime you feel like it..

Ive always played pox, deadale guy and decks like those, getting into commander with some friends, this might be a bit too oppresive no? Some of them are kind of newer magic players

I love those decks too! And yeah I would say prob too oppressive, maybe a commander like syr konrad, the grim or ayara, first of lochtwain for mono black. Or maybe an atheros deck if you wanted to go orzhov

Can you have crypt ghast in there with extort? Doesnt that give it white in its colour identity?

Hello yes you can! Extort has reminder text of what the ability does and reminder text does not count as the color identity of the card as those words are not considered part of the card or ability just how it functions. Thank you for watching and commenting!!

@@packfiend3732 All personal preference, I liked your current way as well. Sorry, I was only leaving a quick comment before. I loved how in depth you got with your combos, and I appreciated that you used both sides of your commander. Alot of decks for Tergrid right now are only focusing on the front of the card, and not enough on the outlet on the back. PLEASE KEEP SHOWING OFF FOILS!!!!! There are NEVER enough videos that show off the foilings on cards, I appreciated this more than I can communicate. Excited to see more content from you! EDIT:: You have several infinite mana combos in here, and you happen to include Basalt Monolith. You may consider adding Rings of Brighthearth as another two-piece combo for infinite mana.

I do have a rings of brighthearth from my commanders legends box, unfortunately it is only colorless mana so tergrid wouldn't win,, I'd have to add in something like exstanguiate. I like that idea though.

Just curious, why would you consider Urborg to be so important in mono black when most of the lands are going to already be basic swamps anyways? Wouldn't Cabal Coffers be more impactful?

Important in the regards that it turns your couple colorless lands into swamps and I does work really well with coffers now that it is in the deck because of the MH2 reprint.

Still watching the video so this might pop up again. But specifically crypt gas. Isn’t that card black/ white. Color identity includes the text box as well as the mana Cost so wouldn’t that card be a black white instead of mono black.

I thought the same thing for awhile, but it really plays out well to basically play a 3rd swamp on your 2nd turn, so that you start your third turn with 3 black instead of 2. Is there better stuff? Probably, but it’s nice
