In this week's episode I show you how to remove wires with terminals from automotive connectors without having to cut and splice. This can come in very handy for replacing a connector, changing the wires to a different connector, disassembling the connector to run wires through something small that the connector can't fit through, etc.

Here is how I was able to do it : The pin locks are NOT like a spring that needs to be compressed at both sides at once, but MORE LIKE needing to bend both locks and REMAIN bent/flush with the pin so it slides out. - Pushing both pins at once didn't work without crushing the connector or pin inside - Used just the smallest single one that I have (at 2:36) - Push cable/pin forward so it is not locked in it's slot - Slide the single sided tool on one side in order to bend the pin lock inwards and make the pin slide-able. - The same for other side, push cable forward, slide tool to bent the locking and make pin slide out. Then of course you need to expand them again in order to lock in the connector again.

Now I know to avoid this tool set, my Harley manual shows a disk with only four different tools on it, that may actually be the tool I need. I've watched a bunch of videos on terminal release/removal, and so far , most of the presenters are using needles and pins, of which everyone has. Would be awesome to find a video where someone has the right tool set to cover most of the common automotive connectors. I'm already pretty good at wiggling things back and forth for 20 mins until I get the job done, would prefer to find the right tool set for releasing connector pins correctly and easily.
