Hey guys Did you catch the answer to the Hang-man secret word? Be sure to post it in the comments! You can find the answer here: reembokreacts.com/2024/04/22/terminator-franchise-my-thoughts/ Reema is back with an epic reaction to another Sci-thriller continuing on the Terminator franchise. The action packed film had some fun moments being comical at times. I liked the balance of the comedy with the seriousness and the heart wrenching ending. The relationship between Terminator and John is just something that will be cherished forever, well by me anyways, I really love that friendship...I know it sounds so weird but I really do feel that connection, Maybe because it's Arnie and I just feel so safe when he's around. The first of 2 Terminator films from WB. With all the success that T2 had (understatement), the fans still wanted T3. It was originally planned as an prequel about the final assault on SKYNET, before Reese was sent back through time after the original T-800 and John knew that Reese was his father retroactively. T3 was an decent installment. Even as it was new, it was familiar as expected. The action and effects were good. Arnold and this new cast were ok. Even after the ending (sad as it was), people were curious to see how the future could play out. Arnold was age 55 at the time of filming, earned $25 mil as the biggest check paid to an movie star ever and reshaped his body with the classic workouts that made him an bodybuilding legend. This was his last film as an lead before he became governor of California including a cameo in The Rundown (2003). A decade later; he returned in The Last Stand & Escape Plan (2013), Sabotage (2014) and Maggie (2015).

Thanks for reacting to this one, it is my favorite in the series. I am old enough to have seen every Terminator movie in the theater upon release. I felt this film did an amazing job salvaging the franchise with what they were given. That is an OP liquid metal version that is nearly impossible to take out, no Sara Conner, and all links to the tech destroyed. As an author, I could appreciate the challenges this director and writers had to overcome.

Agreed. Hollywood movies are often too much focussed on needing a happy end... Way more than some foreign studios anyway. So for them to pull of this semi-loss, was a huge thing, and I still respect the writers of this movie for going there.
@remo277 ай бұрын
@@vvanheukelum : This isn't a happy end. But it's a HOPEFUL one. I always thought this was the perfect end to the Conner Timeline in the series: Playing God (Trying to alter events) often backfires, humanity should have learned that by now , even without a real time machine, and that's what both sides are doing in T2. T3 , besides dealing with attempted timeline manipulation by showing it to be futile also makes it clear the life and humanity can endure but we have to be prepared to struggle. And struggling to complete their missions to the last of their abilities is what terminators do, after all.

Arnold in this movie is a T-850 CSM101. The 101 only refers to his skinsuit. There's other skin suit models like the CSM102 from one of Kyle's nightmares in T-1 who is Arnold's buddy Franco Columbo, and the CSM103 from Terminator Zero who is a muscular Japanese bodybuilder type man but that's an anime series so there's no real live action actor counterpart. And there's the 104 also from Terminator Zero who is a generic large blonde man, kinda looks like Anime-Dolph Lundgren.

Kristanna Loken is such a good actor, she respected the terminator IP greatly, and thus she agreed without any hesitation to do the n'de entrance time-portal scene, as that's one of terminator's IP themes, and she also played/acted like a terminator (robot/machine-movement-acting-etc) really well too, much better than arnold does as a terminator, and arguably better than the guy who did the liquid-metal terminator in T2, and she also was quite intimidating as a terminator too, on top of moving/acting like a robotic/machine terminator as for the movie, it's enjoyable, and it really doesn't have any major flaws, probably the only thing that really actually hurt it is coming after T2 being such an incredible movie, it just couldn't match that, but what could? Oh, one other (possible) negative with it, is that they did the same scenes and etc format, ya, thus keeping it "consistent", but I think most people wanted it to be more different and not repeating the same scenes and format, at least back during that time, but now, I think we appreciate a movie keeping the same scenes and format a bit more also, remember how in the dark knight, how batman uses his bat-cycle and the cable cord to flip joker in the giant semi-truck over, it likely came from this movie's similar scene of the semi-truck flip over ------------------- one of her best performances was for a tv-movie-film: Dark Kingdom: Ring of the Nibelungs (2004) kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqq4eZKIrMamgK8 playing as Brunhilde, grins, really good tv-film-movie (I think it was aired on the original 'sci-fi' channel, but the channel has since been renamed stupidly as 'syfy' channel ever since then)

I don't know why so many people have a problem with this. I thought Terminator 3 did it's best to tie up holes that Terminator 2 left behind. For instance, how could John Connor even exist if Judgement day never happened. He couldn't send Kyle Reese back to plant his seed so to speak. Don't get me wrong, Terminator 2 had great action, better effects, really great effects even for this generation of movies, but still the plot left a lot of holes if you compare it to the first one.

It's a fact that most people miss, the Arnie T-800, Skynet, & John are all in a loop. One of them cannot exist without the others.
@wiseguymaybe6 ай бұрын
@@haroldcruz8550 Welll I don't know it's a well known fact I'll have to take your word for it. But it does sound like a convient excuse to cover plot holes. But if John and the T-800 are in a time loop shouldn't the same events happen over and over again to the first movie, which would still mean that Terminator 2 would never happen, Plus it's also explained to me that Arnies T-800 in the first movie is not the same Terminator as in Terninator 2. They look alike but different T-800 Terminators. So which Terminator T_800 is in the Time loop with John? Forgive me I know these arern't real events and you can write them anyway you want, but I like logic with my Sci-Fi. At what point in time do these events change since Reese himself explained after he went through they blew the time displacement where he says "no one can go back and no one else can come through. It's just him and me" He also told Sarah in the car that all the surrounding in the city would be gone in a few years. Anotherwards you imagine Sarah raising John in a post nuclear age, not making it to the 1990s as in T2. I just rewatched the original Terminator and caught that one. That makes me wonder how and where this "loop" began Don't get me wrong, I very much enjoyed Terminator 2, but I really can't make excuses for the plot holes.
@haroldcruz85506 ай бұрын
@@wiseguymaybe The loop I am talking about is that no matter what it does Skynet wouldn't be able kill John before he sends Kyle Reese to the past, Skynet wouldn't be able to kill Kyle Reese before he fathers John, Skynet happened because of the first T-800 that was sent to kill Sarah . Without the time travel shenanigans it's impossible for John to exist, cause his father came from the future, but it's very clear in T1 that John existed in the future, it's kinda like the chicken and egg paradox

So long as a sequel adds something to the story and or characters and doesn't shit on what came before, I'm fine with it, and this movie added to John's backstory in a meaningful way(and the ending was my favorite of the 3 OG films). That being said, this was a complete cash grab, as Arnold was getting a little long in the tooth, and of course the Terminator would be female, as why not? But for a cash grab, it was a rather solid one and could have been much worse. T2 is the best of course, but I've watched this movie way more than I've watched the 1st movie, as I just enjoy watching it more. The entire movie John was hell bent to stop Judgement Day, but this film shows there is no way to stop it, as the variables might change, and the date might be different, but there is NO STOPPING IT. Overall, this was a rather solid film, as I've seen worse(hell, much, much worse). LOL

Smart time travel theory, you can’t stop it, you can only delay it, because with time travel you can’t change things, the time travel can actually cause things to happen, the twilight zone covered it about killing Hitler as a baby but it showed that the nanny replaced the baby with a Jewish/gypsy baby that the Hitler’s nanny bought from a poor woman and the dad never quite accepts him so feeling inadequate in his father’s eyes and the antisemitism of the father leads to the Holocaust, if you could change things it would just cause another dimension

and since Arnie was California Governor at the time, it was a stunt double with CGI to look like him.

The alternate ending of T2 that folks posted about on your reaction, where it was clear that the future was changed and we were safe... that was positive. It also would've meant the end of the series. The ending you watched was only "hopeful," and it left the door open for more sequels. In fact, since we're dealing with backward time-travel and alternate realities, they can do anything they want, even violate the basic rules set up in previous films, and get away with it. At some point, it's just a cash cow. I suggest you quit the series after this one. But it's up to you. The sequence where Arnie is on the crane and is being used as a human (correction... cyborg) wrecking ball... he reportedly donated $15 million of his own money in order to have that stuff shot and included in the film.

This is a decent action movie but it undermines the premise of the first to movies, no fate but what we make. In this movie, judgment day is inevitable.

My favorite sequel after Terminator 2 is Terminator: Salvation. The 4th installment. It could be interpreted as a sequel to the 3rd film, but the truth is each sequel after Terminator 2 wants to be that perfect 3rd installment of Terminator. All the sequels recognize Terminator 1 & 2 happened. They just don't recognize each other. I used to heavily criticize Terminator 3. Now that I've seen all the sequels, I can honestly say T3 really wasn't that bad. There are worse. Lol. -OG
