It's interesting that the prop designers used a somewhat different hand design for the first and second Terminator movies. I believe they lost the original props, so it might have been easier to re-design from scratch. In the first movie it looks like the finger parts are made from sheet metal, whereas in the second movie the joints are different and it looks like they're machined from metal bar. Your design most closely matches the first movie, but most of the plastic replicas I've seen match the second movie. It's really just a continuity error in the movies that only Terminator-obsessed folk would notice.

Amazing. Been thinking about getting a 3d printer. Have too now! hahaha

You definitely should. A warning though - it will change how you look at everything, and you will get requests to print. Rewarding though, especially when you save someone hundreds of dollars by printing something with $0.50 of plastic.

I just started this print. Is there a particular assortment of screws I can order for this or just order each size individually?

Hi Ant, another great video. I have to ask did you really spray paint after assembly or is this a bit of poetic license?
@antsinafrica7 жыл бұрын
Lodestone hi! That section is 3D animation, so it's a visualization. All parts are actually painted individually. The painting of the base was semi real , but I used a bigger spray gun, and it took a bit longer... So yes, There is lots of poetic license in this to get to the end result. Don't we wish it was that easy! 😉

Lodestone - Sorry, This video is all 3D animation. Thought it was the control video. Thanks for commenting though.

Does your cgtrader version have specific parts list like where to find springs and piston shafts???
@antsinafrica7 жыл бұрын
TelliMantelli - Hi. I created an image showing the dimensions I used for the Shafts, but not where to find them. You can find it on Thingiverse(with the images). It's also in the PDF on the CG Trader download if I remember correctly. I've had a few requests now, so I'm looking into offering kits with all the parts that are hard to find. So I will get back to you if I do. For now though, your best bet is eBay or your nearest spring shop or hardware? Cheers :-)
