This might be a stupid question. But i noticed you said the motor only had 50 miles on it. I was always taught to do a 500 tp 1000 mile break in. Then change the oil. Thats alot of time and money to invest and not break in. Maybe im wrong.

Yea...ford says 500 mile break in on these...I bet that's related here
@MustangLifestyleTV
@MustangLifestyleTV 11 ай бұрын
Unrelated. There are many theories on engine break ins. They are just theories. Nothing that is a break in item in the short block has to pertain to the head sealing to the block. Now if we had premature ring failure you might be on to something. But that is not the case here
@biz0r07

@@MustangLifestyleTV it may be theoretical, but it's a safeguard you chose not to take. I am not saying it for sure was a factor, I am just saying if it were me - I'd have taken the extra time to break it in *just in case*

So last video when the lower rad hose came off and the coolant temp rise over operating temp for a few seconds it probably hurt the head gasket then. This was the last nail in the coffin.
@MustangLifestyleTV
@MustangLifestyleTV 11 ай бұрын
I disagree. Teardown will tell the story. I believe there is a head clamping issue. It caused the coolant hose to pop off initially. The hot temps the sensor read were not true readings because there wasn’t water over the sensor.

Yeah when you push these engines this far any little thing becomes big quick. I have a shelby gt350 and had my stock engine grenade and I curled up fetal position for a few hours hahaha (jkn) but hey it happened so I came back and sleeved motor with all arp mains blah blah and ported heads and cam upgrade, I then went with a Hellion twin setup with ball bearing turbos blah blah and its been running strong ever since 🤞🏻I beat on this thing at the track and carve corners and so far the past year and half Ive been very happy. PLEASE READ! I guarantee this is a failure caused by the Apex headstuds. I personally have had them fail and have documented many others having them fail even when assembling the engine. I am 95% sure that you will find completely loose and possibly broken headstuds. This is not a fluke, DO NOT USE APEX HEADSTUDS! They are prone to breaking and loosening over time.

Nothing crazy just enough to beat all the stock cars out there, And I need to hear those to screw's screaming!! I also hear the Gen 3's don't handle boost as good as the 11.5-1 Gen 2 instead of the 12-1 gen 3's.. The gen 3's are hard to get over 13lbs on an SC where the Gen 2's can handle 15Lb's of SC boost a lot better.. I'll be good on 10lb's.. I don't need the moon just 600 WT and were ever the HP lands after that is fine with me.. I don't race but at the same time I would like to surprise some of the Vetts and Demons, out there.. Something is prob losing alot of power up top making hp closer to tq than normal which makes tq seem high but it's more like hp is low.
@midnight347
@midnight347 11 ай бұрын
Also with older mod motors like 2v and 3v and 4v and the 5.4/5.8 4v they Def can make similar hp and tq numbers with a positive displacement blower. My gen3r 07 gt500 with headers and full exhaust did 740/733 on fat drag radials with a twin 69 tbody. I've seen alot of the old mod motor cars doing similar. The coyote revs higher and makes hp with more revs thus usually has much higher hp vs tq which is what you're used to. Supporting mods also effect this also. The mod motors are less like this once they have aftermarket cams mine is still stock cams they're super mild on older gt500s. With cams and no other changes still on 93 and boostane my numbers would be more like 800/715 as cams gain power up top and lose power low making the two figures off more. With stock cams and positive displacement blowers like a tvs they can absolutely make similar hp and tq lol (peak to peak I mean)

@3500camarz
@3500camarz 11 ай бұрын
Blower and supercharger are the same thing. A blower is more strain on the engine compared to a turbo.
@midnight347
@midnight347 11 ай бұрын
What you mean is positive displacement blower and centrifugal blower both are driven by the crank with a belt which means they take power to make power. Turbo does not. This means 1000 wheel w a turbo setup is less stress on the engine than 1000 wheel w blowers because they take power to make power. On the 1000 wheel blower setups engine is seeing 1100+ hp worth of stress if that makes sense this is also why turbo makes more at same psi.

Just a note to some replies. Modern boring/honing especially for big power race engines doesn't require 500 mile break in. Our circle track engines don't get any break in miles. Our street/strip stuff same thing. Build it, Tune it. Test drive. Triple check tune and let er eat.

So you push 16 psi through a 12:1 motor with a turbo it cant also lift a head? That is alot of stress and pressure regaurdless of power adder choice. Dont act like turbos dont also come with their own sets of problems. If its a straight race car and all that matters is power and ets go turbo. This is a way better street car setup and its not even close imo. That is alot of boost on a 12:1 motor i mean damn couldnt it also lift a head at 16 psi w a turbo setup?
