The horseback messenger would be only at the beginning and it would be at the Voight's farm near the town; Then both parts would be at their respective telegraph office... Think about it, the first telegram comes to the house, "Janelle" moves to the T.O. and exchange telegrams(expensive at the time, BTW) with John, she would never ask "Where is he?" as you know from which town/city the telegram is coming. Telegrams John: Howdy, Janelle, I'm fine. Is everything OK at home? Janelle: Dear John, everything's fine, please come home, we're worried. John showing the telegram to the T800 John: This is strange, she's never that nice to me? T800: Do you have a dog? John: Yeah, Max, Why? T800 to the telegraphist: Please send this. Telegrams "John": hey Janelle, How's my dog Wolfie? Is he alright? T1000: Dear John, Wolfie is fine, we are worried about you. Come home please. @navybr0wnie9 ай бұрын
I think it'd be entirely possible. At least thematically anyways. Lore nerds might get a bit pissy. But as far as movie concepts are concerened. I think some set pieces would include, the inital starting town, where we meet wyatt, and a few of the other characters we'll be following through the movie, probably the damsel he eventually weds, the town doc/priest with whom is the character we feel sorry for whenever he dies, the bandit gang leader/outlaw that turns out to help connor near the third act, A Native/Hispanic character who starts off as a secondary character but goes on to either provide support via his tribe or Military regiment respectively in the beggining to middle of the third act, or does a solo thing and sacrifices himself in an act of 1v1 honor mid-way to latter half of the film. Then theres probably a mine/mineshaft, probably the location that gets the town it's funding, this is probably where the terminator teleports in, and kills or scares away most of the miners, this probably causes the town mayor to enlist connor to figiuire out whose causing the miners to not work. He probably assumes it's the local bandit gang again, or maybe the tribals/hispanics and wants it fixed so that the town(himself) can get the money flowing again. This set piece will mostly be featured in the first half of the movie juxtapositioned between town scenes, and will feature both the terminators first reveal, as well as connors realization that it may not be entirely human. possibly through some shenanigans we find connor and co. traveling through the desert, get some good day/night shots and character bonding before they interact with the terminator again, this time he stirs up a bigger ruckas and explains he is there for connor himself, this causes the group to debat on sending connor out to the teminator or not. Eventually through the chargin of local bandit lord he explains that maybe they can bunker down at a nearby military fort him and his gang used to hang out at. Something or other about it not being a great base because of sitting on top of a large explosive/flamible location. Which leads to our fourth and final set peice old military fort, this is where the final battle will more than likely take place where essentially the terminator will kill thirty dudes and be virtually unfazed, taking a note from a comment in the chain, thewy probably have a scene where theres some guys behind a door and unload a gatling gun onto the terminator, ripping away the face flesh to show that he's not human. they could probably have a canon or room of dynamite be used near the second to last fight. And we can end the movie with the terminator either self destructing to extreme damage due to just getting riddled with canon shots, or we can have it be where it was cut in half and they just blow up the enitre fort because of previously mentioned oil pool or something. I am sure theres more that could be elaborated on but that's all I've got time to type up!

(kid holds up the press-print of a treasure map) "Think this'll melt in there?" "Sure, toss it in.. and the fixed compass." "Adios." (both tumble into the orange blaze below, burning in the intense heat) "It's done." "No, there's still one place the map's hidden." (The Bad Man points to his head) "And it's gotta vanish into the desert too... give me your horse, ma'am, I can't be followed." "..no!" "Sorry, little man, I've gotta move on." "No! You can't leave, you're a criminal, you can't leave! ...you can't leave." (the angry boy pulls the revolver on him and the bad man removes his hat to put on the kids head, finally seeming to fit proper) "...I see now why you still cry, John, but it's just somethin' bad men can't do anymore." (he hugs the kid, revealing the large bloodstain at his abdomen to his mother. They part and the woman shakes the man's hand and gives him the reins to the horse, not forgiving the murder of her husband, but rather understanding the penance given.) "You folks take care now." (The man rides off into the dusty, distant desert.. slowly, but surely the horse slows and refuses to go much further from where it knows, so he gets off and sends it home. As the gigantic red sun is glowing in the distant dusk, he slowly slumps forward and collapses in the sand, dead, vanishing underneath the desert, like so many other bad men before him) *THE END*

Too far back and it could affect people who designed skynet, potentially causing an alternate version of it being made instead and effectively erasing/replacing it in the future It'd be like if you time traveled recklessly and interfered with your parents. If the timing gets thrown off and their relationship is even a 2 or 3 weeks behind when it was supposed to, then the parts that would have made you end up being broken down and an alternate timeline brother is who ends up being born instead of you... could be the same for skynet. If different programmers end up making it and have slightly different ideas than the alternate timeline and different hardware is developed, isn't it a different entity than skynet? What if it's buggy from a less competent design? What if it has more robust safeguards programmed in? What if it ends up just being used to predict stocks and manipulate markets? Even if it travels back in time with a terminator, going back too far without computers to transfer to, poses a whole new series of issues, for example: what if it's discovered, isolated, studied, and ends up being used to make a more advanced AI than itself before it can escape?

Given that The Terminator was partially inspired by the original Westworld, this is surprisingly full circle

In this AU of the Terminator, Skynet sent the T-800 to the 19th century to kill John Conner's ancestors while they were migrating to the west. Kyle Reece was sent to protect Saundra Conner, who immigrated to the US from Scottland when she was a small girl. He finds her in a mining town turning the gold rush as a bar owner. They rush from town to town trying to escape. The movie ends with the pair blowing up a mine and burying the Terminator under rubble. It's fate unknown until the sequel, where the damage was so severe it damaged it's chip, but not enough to kill it. This lead to the T-800 to invert it's directive from killing, to protecting. It's found by a random miner years later, by that time Jocky Conner has been born and sets up the events of T2

"Come with me, partner, if you want to live" - I can just imagine Clint Eastwood doing that, dressed up like a cowboy from a 70s film...

This would go so well together with the original Westworld movie. (And Schwarzenegger studied Yul Brenner's acting from that movie.)
