What is the small white rectangle port next to the RCA cable inputs? It's labeled HLI

Hey Jessie! HLI is High level inputs. That means that you are using the speaker wire leads off of the back of the radio instead of using the RCA connections.

It’s in my son’s car, we left everything on the default (out of the box settings) from what I’ve read the universal go to is 30Hz on subsonic and 80Hz on LPF.

Hey man I just bought the same thing with the amp but i didn’t get any power cord, remote cord ect. Lol I pretty much need every piece of wiring so do you have any suggestions on where to get them or a link I’d appreciate it. Its going on a 2000 crv if that helps.

Man you don’t know how I needed this. This was my first MTX terminator sub and it threw me off with the speaker wire input. I thought it was insert down. I am blind in one eye from the Military and today I went to look at it again and seen the holes when you push the inputs down. That is when I noticed normal speaker wire would go in there. I came back to search and viola your video confirms this. Now my question is how was the quality with this set up as I have yet to finish it?

On the positive and negative my negative keeps falling out any solutions ? I see people twist the wires and put it in then use a wrench and twist the top ? You have any solutions

Hey Xavier, twisting the wires works to give the set screw something to bite on. Are you unscrewing and opening that before you put the wire inside? Then screwing it closed? Also you could try crimping a connection on the wire to give the screw something to bite on.

I have the compact 8" terminator. I have power from battery and a good ground. Any idea why I get no light from leds and the fuse is good. I have a rca cable for speakers 12v landed on the terminal and ground on the ground terminal.. so I have to use the REM port hooked to the receiver? Thank you

🤔 Hey Shawn! Maybe check the accessory/ignition wires are connected correctly… First off, check your wiring. If you have a voltage meter or a test light, test the ground (black), constant 12v (yellow), and accessory 12v (red) wires to make see if you have the correct voltage in the correct wires, as well as a good ground. Constant will always be 12v, whether or not your car is on. Accessory will be 12v only when you turn the key to the “ON” position or the car is running. Make sure to use your ground, as well as another ground (like the frame or body of the car) while testing your constant and accessory to test that you have a good ground. If you find that one of your power wires or ground wires are not correct, check your vehicle wire diagram and make sure you have the correct corresponding power and ground wires. If you do not have power, and you know for a fact your wiring is correct, check the fuses under the dash or under the hood (depending on your vehicle). Easiest way to locate the correct fuse is to look in the Owner’s Manual and find the fuse number and box location. Your manual should indicate which fuse is for the “Accessory”, “Car Stereo”, or something of that sort. After finding the location of the fuse, pull it and make sure that the leads are not corroded and that the fuse has not been broken or popped. If your speakers randomly stopped working and you noticed that your amplifier is in protection mode, there are a few reasons why this might have happened. Most aftermarket amplifiers have a protection from low and high voltage. If your alternator is producing too much power, it will trigger the amplifier’s protection mode. Vice versa, if your battery is low and the amplifier is not receiving a constant 12v, it will enter protection mode. Amplifiers will also enter protection mode if there is a short somewhere. If you have a signal RCA wire that is shorting out, this could be your problem so check to see if your RCAs are in-tact and not shorted. Also, if one of the output channels are shorted out, or you have a blown speaker, many aftermarket amplifiers will enter protection mode. Disconnect all output channels and see if it will return to normal operation. Hope that helps

Hey Jessie! The sub came with a wire kit. If you are using thin gauge wire above 16 AWG (18-24) this is not good for long speaker runs. It will degrade the signal and could cause some more resistance to the amp adding heat. 16 gauge wire is recommended for cable runs up to a max of 30ft. You could try it and see what happens, feel the wires while it’s running, if they get hot probably should switch

Many times, the protection indicator will blink to indicate the reason the amp is in protect mode. The owner's manual is the best source to help you decode the blink sequence. This is common on older Alpine amplifiers. Not all amps have a protection mode indicator

Hey J Tate! There is a grommet where electrical wires run through the firewall and underneath the dash… it’s a tight squeeze. I ran the power wire up around the hood and inside the passenger door then I pulled up the carpet and ran the wire underneath and to the back of the car where I installed the amp

Hey Juicy! Thanks for the question. Most amplifiers power light changes to red because of thermal overload. Possible wire short circuit. Check all your wires for damage, breaks and proper connections. I notice when there is a wiring issue even the smallest cracks in the wire can cause problems

The subs came pre-boxed and finished so I assume they are wired/connected properly together inside, as both generate sound. The speaker wire does have two connections to the back of the box, I had to separate and strip it to make contact

This is what I read.. “Each red blink indicates the amp is being scanned by the internal DSP to confirm all is well on each zone. The blinking red LED means all is good. You should only get worried if that bottom LED becomes SOLID red, then that indicates there is a short on that particular zone.”
