I have been waiting for something like this for 20 years. The future war was always talked more about in the books, and the sequences from all the movies nearly teased at the war, but this puts into a cohesive and coherent story that is absolutely top tier. Well done.

This is absolutely AWESOME! One of the best films I have ever seen. Way better than most of what came out of holywood in last 3-4 years. It is what Terminator 3 should have been. Aside from part 1 and 2 this is the best Terminator movie. Wipes the floor with trash like Terminator Gendersys or latest one (cant even remember the title). Absolutely awesome! Right away, one thing this work did right in comparison to Salvation regarding the future war period, MOST of the storyline/action taking place at night, staying true to Kyle Reese's words from the first movie about how the human resistance can only come out in the night time as they have better chances of survival than the day. Just staying true to every little detail like that goes a long way into establishing a good canon story. Well done!

1:13:50 The scene where Sarah and John are at the beach....where the music of the terminator begins to play.....to see John’s face turn from joy to sudden fear.... ....should have been the real ending to Terminator 2, which would’ve ended the franchise on a cliff hanger deserving a fan’s imagination to run wild with ideas on what John Connor saw, before the movie ended, that terrified him so much. - I’m glad my idea ending of choice was used here by another.

Nah, Brad Fiedel wasn't coming back and even if he did he wouldn't have kept the style exactly the same. He only used it in T1 because it was cutting edge at the time. I think to do it right in modern-day they would have needed to reinvent it. Make Salvation's soundtrack a mix of T2's haunting synth and machine sounds with Trent Reznor's electronic music (kinda like in The Social Network), then if they got a sequel they could have slowly pushed the 80's synth sound back into the mix to give that nostalgic feeling (and foreshadow the time travel). It would make it feel like a natural progression of music styles and prepare the audience to revisit the original film. The future war definitely needed a modern sound to make it feel fresh and innovative, not a straight rehash.
