The Terminator was lying to Kenta......Terminators have detailed files on human anatomy as well as psychology. We follow its steps from construction to time portal and there is zero human interaction. You see its mission parameters change after it sees the arrival of the rest of the gang and determines using the EMP is the only means remaining to shut down Kokoro. It merely tries to manipulate Kenta to help it complete its mission because as it states 'It cannot self terminate' so it would have been unable to activate it, he needed Kenta to. You even hear how it tells him that his father left him to die to try and emotionally persuade him. It was just trying to complete its other objectives after killing Lee who was the primary target as shown in episode 1.
@TheKain2022 ай бұрын
Unlikely. We actually see it's POV. It was just blowing hot air, whenever it said it's gonna hurt him - we literally see its primary objective is to escort the little dude, when he protects him from the rubble and we see its objectives in its heads on display. Every single time traveler in the show comes from a wildly different timeline. Malcolm comes from a timeline where there was no Kokoro, Eiko didn't need to travel back in time, so she eventually met a dude in the future and had a kid. In another she time travels, fails at her objective completely leading to Skynet subjugating Kokoro, and lives out her life in the past, growing old and meeting her younger self and sending her back. Eiko is from that timeline. In yet another timeline, Kokoro goes online, goes omnicidal against humanity AND decides Skynet is her enemy. Humanity and Skynet are forced to join forces to survive. The T800 is from that timeline. The show has actors from three separate timelines running around.
@Farron62 ай бұрын
@@TheKain202 Watch it again. It doesn't care about Kenta or any of the children in particular. It only needs one of them to blackmail Malcolm with to reprogram Kokoro. It knocks Kenta out early on with no care about his state as he grabs his brother. Malcolm however says that no matter what, he will not change his mind or do what the Terminator wants.The best alternate course is that if Kokoro can't be reprogrammed then it is to be destroyed to prevent it getting in Skynets way. Hence why it tries to convince Kenta to use the EMP. In regards to your point about it coming from a different timeline to Eiko they make a big deal at the very beginning that Eiko needs to go back in time right at that moment in order to follow the Time Window the Terminator created during its own trip. It is always maddnessing when dealing with Time Travel Paradoxes.

They changed how time travel works on this iteration. It matches the multiverse model of all films and series of the last 10 years. Not a problem, but it does change the rules of the IP and adds to the complexity.
@SalinaMoonfallАй бұрын
It's debatable, previous entries have given breadcrumbs indicating that multiple timelines were how it was working but haven't clearly or explicitly stated it for whatever reason...probably due to both the complexity issue, AND the implications...basically each instance of time travel is creating a new series of events independent of the previous one, but with the same results, up to and including both sides eventually sending agents back to try and change or eliminate variables. This extends beyond not just that any changes aren't benefiting the previous timeline, but also if think about it could mean the temporal cycle of them going back in time to change things has been going on through a LOT more iterations than humanity is even aware of, and Skynet itself might be closest to awareness that it's iterations have been stuck in this cycle as well...but even it might not be aware.

I personally think the machine knew its original mission probability ran close to 0 once Malcolm began making a break through with Kokoro so its next best course of action to ensure a probable success rate was to appeal to one of the children with a lie that would destroy Kokoro indefinitely. I could be wrong but who knows if Kenta even made the right choice to begin with .

The terminator that slaughtered all those people in the future and the terminator that went back aren't the same terminators If I'm not mistaken There is 3 different time travelers in the current series Malcolm and masaki is 1 timeline, eiko is a 2nd,and the terminator is the 3rd.The 1st and second is 1 from where Skynet is against human resistance. And the 3rd is where Skynet and human resistance join forces against kokoro. But like the beginning mentioned All of it is pointless cause they're only changing their current presents and Not they future that came from.

@@asmokingp3005 So when the prophet had that talk with Eiko before sending her off to the past, the prophet knew Skynet had sent a terminator back to the 1997 after Malcolm & Kokoro didn’t she? She obviously chose Eiko due to her being Malcolms mother, but she also told Eiko that they had a small window to have her sent back to the exact date & time the terminator was sent before they lost their chance. Wouldn’t that imply they were from the same future? Or is the prophet somehow aware of other alternate realities that could happen aslong as she sends the specific people needed to create it?
@asmokingp30052 ай бұрын
@ProGriefer5522 no wait you right forgot about that But if that's true why are the terminators attacking humans in that timeliness if kento and skynet made an alliance?.and what was the terminators original purpose.
@ProGriefer55222 ай бұрын
@@asmokingp3005 THATS EXACTLY THE SAME QUESTION I ASKED MYSELF lmao. The only logical thing I could think of is the terminator must’ve known its mission success rate dipped to its lowest once Malcom broke through Kokoro so its next best course of action was to lie & appeal to the most vulnerable sibling (Kenta) and have him destroy Kokoro one and for all. It sounds like a reach but Eiko did state it would do anything and everything to ensure its mission objective succeeds, as all Skynet terminators do. But there could be another timeline at play here, Im not too sure on the specifics which is why this plot point confused me to begin with

@@ProGriefer5522 In the earlier episodes, it wasn't focused on a specific kid, it tried to lure Reika first and even violently threw Kenta aside and gave him a concussion. I'm convinced it lied to pressure Kenta.

Question about Terminator Zero's time travel explain. Was Eiko, and The Terminator came from two different timelines, and somehow those two got send to the same point of time? Cause The Terminator said he was send by an alliance with Skynet and Kenta (yet, that could be a lie from the terminator)?? Yet. Eiko gave birth to Malcome in 2025. Yet Eiko got send in the past in 2022??? Yet is the Eiko that was send in the past still the same Eiko who gave birth??
@Isaiah-h2o2 ай бұрын
That's where the paradox comes in. No matter what timeline you look at, Malcolm creates Misaki and goes back in time to create Kokoro. She cannot exist without him, and Malcolm will eventually have Kenta and the others. That hint was also indicated when Kenta saw a reflection of his adult self in the Cat Town amusement park. So yes, the Terminator and Eiko came from the same timeline because she used his jump to end up at the same destination. Now from this standpoint, I believe the old woman is Eiko and the mother of the Malcolm we're currently seeing. I feel she knows so much about time travel and the parallel timelines that are created because she went back in time herself and failed her mission in stopping Skynet and Kokoro. She experienced the apocalypse twice and analyzed the differences. I say this because Malcolm quotes what the old woman tells Eiko in the first episode as he reminisces about the mother he knew. That's just my theory tho ;)

Remember when terminator killed kid john connor and he said he had no purpose after his mission was successful. He found a purpose and he couldnt self terminate. Hmmmmm. I like that take on time travel.

I hope there isnt a season 2. His show ends so perfectly. It gives us hope but also….not. A season 2 would drag things on when this is a perfectly tight story with no fat. We dont need a story to complicate things. Overly complicate like terminator 3 4 5 6 did when the first 2 had such a tight story.

Okay, so the show got time travel wrong and right. They are referring to string theory. Ie. Every time someone time travels a new timeline is created. Other time travelers cannot get to your timeline, unless you travel together. What they got right is that the timeline you came from cannot be changed , you can never return to it. What you do in the new timeline doesn’t affect the timeline you came from.

I enjoyed this but it’s another don’t think about it too hard series. If you can’t fix the present for everyone by going back in time then there is no point to go back in time except to change your own future. Then it becomes a selfish decision.

Sorry, but as a fan of the movies and the lore around it, I cannot fully like this anime, the fact that Kenta sent the Terminator from the futer to... What? Protect him? Protect him from what? From the Terminstor itself going rampant killing insistent people and overall misstreat him (kenta) and everybody arounf him? Why does Malcom mistreats Misaki so much if she was special to him? What future were they trying to save if all the bombs fell allover the world but Japan? And that Eiko was Malcolm's grandmother, come one dude, really? Friking bs men
@Snzn_72 ай бұрын
The terminator wasn't protecting Kenta, Kenta is the "plan B". The terminator just needs Kenta to be alive to be used as "plan A" hostage for Malcolm, "Plan B" to use him to activate the Emp. Like lol, where did you get the Idea that The Terminator is protecting Kenta from something/someone?. Like basically he will treat Kenta like shit as long as his alive for Plan A. But since Plan A failed, Then the terminator switched up and try to get on Kenta's good side for Plan B to work. Basic stuff. Easy to understand The Terminator was sent back to control Kororo. Kenta is just a means to accomplish that goal. Next . Malcolm mistreats Misaki.??? Lol, Malcolm just got angry at her when the kids went missing under her watch. Like it's likely that many father's would get angry at their "wife", if the kids went missing under the wife's watch. Its a pretty conceivable idea, I don't know where you pulled the "mistreatment" angle from. Lol Again Malcolm was trying to use Kokoro to stop Skynet from launching the nukes. But that plained failed since Malcolm was not able to convince Kokoro before Judgement day. Basically it was too late and Kokoro was only able to secure Japan but not the rest of the world. Also Eiko was Malcolm' mother. If you are true Terminator fan then you will know shit like that happens, like how in the movies Kyle is John's father. Like it's basic Terminator stuff and you call yourself a fan of the movies?? A lot of your complaints are merely just you not comprehending what you had watch, lol😂 Like if you watch the show you would know that.

There’s a logic bug. How is it possible that Kokoro goes online if the internet is controlled by Skynet?
@1idd0kun2 ай бұрын
Was it ever said that Skynet was connected to the Internet? I remember only Terminator 3 mentioned something like that, but that movie was a total disaster and no one should care about anything coming from it. In the original two Terminator movies, the Internet is never mentioned. What Skynet was hooked up to was the US military network, which is not the same as the Internet.

@brainPilot The problem with the new explanation of time travel and timelines is that now, travelling in time doesn’t make sense at all… Imagine in your timeline , humans are being hunted by Skynet and Malcolm’s AI, and so you conclude that travelling back to stop Malcom creating the AI would solve the issue. But no, it would only mean you go to someone else’s timeline to shut down the AI but in that timeline, it could be that tha Ai is actually on the humans side and the last line of defence. So now, you have shut down the AI because of what happened in your timeline, but just messed it up for the future of the new timeline Therefore travelling back in time altogether is redundant. It made the entire purpose of the show pointless in fact

The humanist attempt to prove why humanity is worth saving falls flat every time. There is no ultimate standard to point to, and the destruction we produce has no inherent meaning than what we make of it. The creator of the show said he’s not a nihilist, but that’s the logical ends of humanism, and the attempt to design a logical god will only see the end of the human run as a positive. That said humanism lives on the back of theism, while rejecting the ground on which it walks. It will only ever fail to produce the meaning it seeks.

there is 0 reason to believe the terminator was saying the truth. it lies and manipulates all the time (used other people voices and the like). the only truth it probably did say in the final scenes is that it needs a human to switch the emp and it knew it needs to manipulate the kid.
