Scuttling can also be done from the ferry of the damned if people are spawn camping your ship. Just wait a minute before respawning or you still mite be on a sinking ship and killed again.
@TheOTanks2 жыл бұрын
there are some more simple terms if you are in a team and need to communicate clearly without needing to say much repairing - this is usually when your just putting planks on holes or damaged ship park. bilging - this is when you scoop buckets of water from your ship back out into the sea back splash - this is when you accidently bilge water back on to your ship ether by simply missing or you got knocked back by something like an enemy ship shooting blunder bombs at you. broads - this refers to the act of firing multiple shots (mainly the full 10 cannons you can carry) towards an enemy ship nosing - this is when the ship your fighting is turning into you or nosing in, if they nose into your broad they made a horrible navel mistake. rumbling - this refers to a ship in the distance is heading straight towards you, normally ending up in a fight so be prepared if you see this. (these are roles for the ship, mostly apply to a galleon crew but can still apply to smaller ships) Helm - helm not only refers to the wheel or helm of the ship, but also the player who mainly steers the ship and gets it into position for battle and only occasionally gets on a cannon to shoot (aka they main helm and secondary cannons) cannoneer - these are the people who mainly shoot cannons at other ships and occationaly help bilge water from the ship. (aka they main helm and secondary bilge) main bilge - this refers to the singular pirate that repairs and bilges the ship (mainly bottom deck). they can call for help with bilging but in intense fights a skilled main bilge can keep the whole ship afloat with just bilging for the entire duration of a broad. cannons/chains - are the basic supply terms used, note cannons are all cannonball types, chains refer to the chain shot as they are highly needed in navel combat and get their own term. Kegs - this refers to the gunpowder barrels you find on forts or randomly elsewhere, the stronghold variant are known as "mega kegs" and the athena fortune version are refer to as "athena kegs" and are just as strong as mega kegs but are much more rare. stationaries - these refer to stationary cannons on islands or forts, normally used by AI but players some times use them against other players that are chasing them cannon line - this is the area you see on the top decks of ships (most notably the galleon), when you want to suppress the other players shooting cannons at you, you hit cannonballs on their cannon line to knock off or possibly kill the players on the cannon. bottom decks - again when you are shooting cannons, if you hit the part of the ship that is on the water line or lower, that is hitting bottom decks and will cause the ship to sink, most notably the galleon as it has 3 decks (top deck that has the cannon line, mid deck and bottom deck). NAL - this refers to the "Notorious Arena League" which is a competitive arena tournament, they are players that highly focus on navel and usually are skilled in long ranged cannon shots. TDM - this refers to "Team Death Match", these are people who think they are really good at double gunning and pvp in general, though they are normally not that great at navel. they heavily rely on boarding your ship and killing you over and over until you eventually sink. (whatever) lord - whenever someone say something like "sword lord" or "crab lord" or whatever kind of lord, they normally mean it in a demeaning way towards what newer players tend to like in the game or do normally. they consider it low skill, and that if you are a lord you suck at the game and should learn what they consider to be a higher skilled strat (normally they are but hurt because they cant double gun well)
@patrikekholm73392 жыл бұрын
yes, NAL is a commonly used term if you are any good at the game

On a galleon, our crew likes to designate 4 roles: Captain: The one who calls the shots and decides on what we should focus on doing, whether that be in a combat scenario or just in general like what kind of voyage we are doing that day. They also are in charge of repelling enemy boarders. Helmsman: The one steering the ship with the wheel, they are to ensure we get to our destination as quickly as possible, as safely as possible, in conjunction with assistance from the Everyman reading the map and the Lookout providing information on the horizon. Lookout: The one that stays on the ship and watches for other ships, and also stop anyone from attempting a tuck on our ship. They also call out for when we should drop anchor to ensure we don't hit a rock or beach our ship. Everyman: The one who bails water and patches holes, alongside other miscellaneous things like cooking food, dropping anchor, using the harpoon to get loot, or watching the map for Reapers. If there are too many holes for the Everyman to handle alone, it's their responsibility to alert that they need assistance with fixing the ship to prevent it from sinking. Everyone on the ship is responsible for making sure we are stocked on supplies as much as possible, and are responsible for deciding when they should prioritize using a cannon or repairing the ship over their assigned role. These are the terms we like to use to indicate what we are currently doing that I didn't see you mention. Patching (fixing holes) Repairing XYZ (fixing mast, wheel, anchor) Bucketing (bailing water) Firing (shooting cannons) Out of XYZ (out of bullets/cannonballs/food) Anchored (dropped the anchor) Down/Dead/Revived (keeping tabs of who has been downed, who has been sent back to ferry, and who was saved from having to go back to ferry) Back Spawn (an enemy that spawned during/after their ship sank attempting to take us with them) Anchor Turn (coordinating to turn the ship with the anchor) Harpoon Turn (coordinating to turn the ship with the harpoon) Keg (keg)

Two simple terms that I've heard are "going dark" which means you don't talk to your crew because other people can hear you in proximity chat. I guess this is fixed with the inverted microphone. The other term is "to have priority over" which I think means the enemy is about to be on your broadside, it is usually said by the helmsman.

Disney Stick - Dark Tides Trident. Because they were released with Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean update. Sword lord - Someone whose skill with the sword is near legendary. e.g. Blurbs Empty your pockets - put all your items in barrels, typically before shooting off/visiting an island for more supplies. Blunder sniping - someone attempting to shoot a blunderbuss at a range that is too far to hit and do damage. "That guy keeps trying to blundersnipe me" Sharked - getting attacked/killed by a shark, many times unexpectedly. "I got sharked. I'm on the ferry." A few that the solo player Blurbs never uses. ;) "Bucket! Bucket! Bucket!" - often screamed in panic when you need your crew to bucket water off your ship as you are nearly sunk. Bilge - the water on the bottom of your ship. If tells you to "bilge" they want you to get rid of the water that has leaked into your boat. Angle - Often said by the helmsman (guy steering) that the rest of the crew should angle the sails to catch the wind. Shots on the left/right - the enemy should be visible to shoot at using cannons on the designated side.

Merchant trade routes are a great way to encounter other ships. Alternatively, if you level up a Reaper emissary flag, a server hopper will find you eventually. You could also hop servers yourself. I also suggest that you fight other emissary ships and leave non-emissary ships alone. Emissaries are more likely to give you a good fight and to have loot. Not only that, but sending emissary pirates to the Ferry will raise Reaper emissary grade. If you're already a grade 5 Reaper, emissaries are marked on your map, so they're easy to find. Non-emissary ships tend to run, be inattentive, scuttle, do tall tales, and complain about you sinking them for no reason. But emissary flags make one a target. Even if the ship has no loot, a flag is plenty reason to sink someone. I never feel bad for sinking an emissary, nor do I blame someone for sinking me when I'm an emissary. That's the risk that comes with the greater rewards.

"Unfair for some reason" There are many reasons why doublegunning is unfair. If a weapon combo forces others to use it, it isn't fair. While yes, sword can beat double gunning, the best sword user is at a disadvantage against the best double gunner. It doesn't matter if it's sandbox, it needs to be nerfed. Sea of Thieves is also a casual pirate game, not a competitive shooter game, and double gunners turn it into one. I could write an entire essay about this topic (and I have, several times), but I'll just leave it at that.

With all the different hit reg and server problems, and no one has put up enough to get rare to try and fix it. because truly game isn’t worth playing and I’ve to explain to new players why they keep losing their hauls because of a broken core gameplay mechanic. On Xbox pvp is sometimes impossible goes from an epic fight to being an hour of two players standing there until the other dies, even cannons can hit reg boats and players chain shots can hit reg mast making you lose of course. and not only new players very good pro players had to leave it got so bad they even sank to new crews because how bad the game has gotten it’s gonna kill the game for sure. Hope the game gets turned around so sad that pvp videos now have to explain hit reg and stuff

main reason double gunning is annoying to me is because hitreg can be very unforgiving, at least for me. mainly in the sense that I'll get blunderbussed for half my health from halfway across a galleon and then shot by the eye of reach when the dude isnt even looking at me, but that's not the fault of the people using it, that's the fault of the game and considering I actively neuter myself by using the pistol as my only gun, i cant complain much since many of my deaths are my own fault
