"It's an honor to be able to have a ship named after me. I understand that I have become famous - rather, infamous - for my prowess, for my willingness to do whatever it takes to advance the cause of humanity. I've spent a long while in the service of Earth. Her people. Her places. I've given much of myself to ensure that the alien threat that this ship will now stand against will never taint our home. But like this vessel requires a crew to breathe life into her, make her radiators and engines glow with heat and her guns thunder, I owe more than I can ever express to the people who have watched my back and ensure that I could be standing here today. To Captain Sanderson, I give you my blessing and my hope, a hope that I am sure that I share with all others, that you and your crew will be able to perform to the best of your abilities, and help this ship bring one more piece of hell to the aliens." - Max Pichardo, christening ceremony of the Terran Star Vessel (TSV) Max, 04 July 2040

This was humanities glory made manifest, the hydra were not facing a scared or backwards planet of apes now. Now they were fighting us and they were loosing, their ships burned in the void and our home stood strong the blue-green jewel of our new empire. In an earlier episode I think it was stated that there were only something like 500 Hydra that came through the wormhole. Is the limited number of Hydra an actual resource the aliens have to manage and if so I wonder if it's possible to kill all the Hydra agents in the Solar System? It would take a while; but every agent killed on earth and every transport shot down is one less.
@peterhuston78882 жыл бұрын
That would be cool, but I think the idea is that the wormhole is still open, so the aliens get a trickle of resources (including antimatter and exotics) through it. Thus, we can assume that they could send through more hydras if their numbers ever got whittled down too much.
@scorpixel18662 жыл бұрын
It does also say that the aliens keep receiving stuff across that wormhole, maybe they get to decide what to ask for from home? I'm doubtful that they can run out of operatives as a mechanic, or at least that they can get more at the price of not getting something else.
@solaariel26922 жыл бұрын
@@scorpixel1866 It make sense from a narrative point of view that the aliens get resources and reinforcements though the wormhole, but I don't actually think they get anything from it in gameplay. The reason I suspect this is because when the aliens had that bad event that caused Perun to roll back the save; they ended up in a death spiral because they couldn't pay their upkeep costs, I don't think this would have been so devastating if they could just get more stuff. Of course it's possible the alien AI isn't very good at dealing with surprises like this, or that they do get stuff but they don't get to choose what.
@jacksonletts37242 жыл бұрын
@Solaariel My undesrtanding is that they do get resources through the wormhole. At the very least we know they get exotics from there since we are told they explicitly aren’t produced in the solar system. It’s this bottlekneck that has forced the aliens to build non-exotic ships after Perun started his attrition campaign. As for other materials through the wormhole, it’s hard to tell what they get. I don’t think it’s very much -if any - of the basic materials. Like you said, the earlier locking of their space economy proves they’re not getting those sorts of things in bulk.
@scorpixel18662 жыл бұрын
@@solaariel2692 I though that Perun's aliens did end up starting to expand eventually thanks to a floor ressource gain, although the loss of the mine essentially stalled any growth for years. And according to him the aliens at least do receive exotics which is the bottleneck of any enhanced technologies within the solar system. Unless they do have building for those? There's probably a wiki getting made cataloguing what is and isn't, if it isn't already up yet.

From my lategame experiences 200 layers of armor is an overkill. ~120 is enough to tank all alien defenses during base assault (they are using plasma which deals not that much damage. On the other hand I think heat sinks are usefull event with tin droplets radiator, because each time you get hit (and plasma will heat you) you still get 1% chance of damaging the radiator, so while tanking stations, hit sinks are required.

Love the series buddy, keep it up. Just a little tip for your battles: set formations - Tight, short wall, archers or shield, centre heavy. This gives you a nice compact 2 row wall. Perfect for overlapping PD (or the tall wall) You dont even need to maneuver most of the time, just use a simple low kps drift as a group as you normally do, mostly to avoid LR mags (largely spinals). (low kps commit means quick to chase up stragglers too) I'm amazed you made it through some of those split formation battles. Ultimately, you've helped me greatly with my playthroughs, especially ship design and grand tactics. Cheers!

Thanks for the episode ! For fleet combat i use wall formation that will allow a good plasma volley and i switch between aggressive and defensive behavior, in 3.23 it worked very well, but in 3.26 i face alien ships that can point defense my plasma (! not sure if it's a bug or not !) so the wall/plasma volley is not as efficient but it's still ok. In the end i try manual combat and autoresolve and take the best result. Alien fleets are quite weak compared to their attack power, they use missile, mag and laser at the same time, very inefficient, it would be different if they were using full missile or full laser or full mag or full plasma (all with pd) and only dreadnought/big ships. For antimatter, Devs nerfed harvesting very hard, don't know why, the best spot in the Saturn moons (880) didn't yield, so i edited game files and my harvesting 3 T3 farm yielded same amount as 6 supercolliders. Anyway in the end after a few years i decommissioned the harvester base and removed half my supercolliders because i only need a few antimatter for the am spiker. Note about Alien space bases, they use plasma, they can pd your plasma (and mag/missiles) and are weak to laser, so the best option is to quickly come mid range, always face incoming to tank it and have big/medium laser on your ships. My Plasma Titans 6 6 61 have 2 pdl 2 medium laser and 1 plasma canon and they get the job done (0 loss in autoresolve, 1-2 loss in manual, fleet of 16 Titans), your 250 front armor Titans will probably work very well. (full plasma so the base pd will have a hard work, especially in medium range, because plasma shot are fast)

Better heat-dispersing armor might be an option if it exists, the alien alloy one seemed to only be good for anti-laser purposes though... Well that or learning to dodge their shots, which would take a helluva a lot of combat accel and turn accel to manage that, as well as constant facing changes...

With so many PD boats, i suggest tuning your nose phasers on BBs to shoot ships only (not guardian mode) because they shot missiles preferable and dont do damage to enemy ships (12:00 battle)

I also enjoy that just due to how the mechanics of this game works, all antimatter is produced off earth. I could totally see that being a entirely realistic regulation for the stuff in real life.

When Perun discover an agent is a traitor he is not angry or disgusted. He is like a father who failed his son. Like in one piece when whitebeard was stab in the back in marine ford! haha

Perhaps you can recommission that orbital Jupiter base into making the Titans you have been planning on.

Also, may I request that we be given a recap of what’s been going on at earth mainly for the other factions? I kinda want to see what notable powers that still remains not under HF control and which factions respectively they are controlled by.

Just something to consider for the future war strategy but maybe you can priority target alien mines with high base metals and volatiles yields? Because aside from the exotics the biggest need for resources in ship construction seem to be base metals and volatiles at least for your ships so if you can cripple major centers of metal and volatiles production for the aliens perhaps you could put a dent in their shipbuilding capacity

Lost my HF playthrough after using too many nukes (100+) Feels bad man. Your playthrough looks solid though, without any nuke usage at all.

Oh boy, the antimatter trap trap! I've talked with devs about it a while back and I hope they review this, otherwise this is a noob trap. I think I did some calculations and it was like "if I had 100 stations in that orbit, each running 100 traps for 100 years, I still wouldn't be able to afford the cheapest module that uses antimatter". Trully, a noob trap! Gah!

The fix that I have found for that ship classification issue is to make a new class which is identical, except for the classification is different, and then refit at a shipyard. The refit is instant (0 days), however it does require a shipyard with an open queue (unless there is a way to change the order of items in the queue).

I love your videos and I very much like the Australian (and New Zealand) themed names of your ships. Also I have seen that you have a ground army named Bundesheer, which means that now Austrians (Bundesheer is the Austrian army) and Australians fight together. That's glorious 😁
