Terrace is a strategy game that is played on a three dimensional board with 64 squares of one color, which are arranged in L-shaped levels ("terraces") that rise stepwise from the board's lowest points in two diagonally opposite corners to its highest points in the two other corners. All pieces are shaped alike and move alike, but they are of 4 different sizes, and the smallest piece has the letter T carved into it. The object is to win either by moving your T from its starting point at one corner to an opposite corner, or by capturing your opponent's T.

It was supposed to be a huge game with tournaments, like Teeko.. but just faded away into obscurity. Great game!

I know, it’s a shame, I actually spoke to Buzz (one of the inventors) about allowing me to bring it to Kickstarter. I believe it would fund! But he was less excited about the idea.

No, Buzz doesn’t need it, I think he was very busy as he’s involved with art and other things, and I remember him telling me the cost of production is high. There was talk about an app, but that hasn’t happened yet either.

Thanks so much for highlighting this game. I play it practically every day and can't get enough! Your sentiment about kickstarter, I think, is true: if this was kickstarted, it would be funded very quickly. I would add though that people need to see the potential. This is a hidden gem of a game for sure!

Thanks for sharing info on this rare game. I just bought a copy online. Could you explain a little how the 4-player version is played? Is it like the last survival or the first to capture a T or a team play..? I think you use only 6 pieces per player when playing 4 right? Thanks for your work Great YT Channel !! 🤘

In a 4 player game each player has their own “T” piece and it’s an all out war for the last one standing. Yes, 4 pieces each with descending size order in the set up.

A smaller piece cannot take a bigger piece. Pieces of the same size or larger can take.

You can jump over your own pieces but not your opponent’s.
